US Strikes Iran Nuclear Sites

Hassan Abedini, deputy political head of Iran's state broadcaster, said Iran had evacuated the three sites some time ago.
"The enriched uranium reserves had been transferred from the nuclear centres and there are no materials left there that, if targeted, would cause radiation and be harmful to our compatriots," he told the channel.

if i understand correctly, destroying the enriched uranium was the main point, wasn’t it? if this iranian source is stating the truth it didn’t work out. though i don’t know how reliable this is.

i wonder (but also don’t really want to know) where all of this will lead :(

IMO

If the US want to realistically guarantee that Iran will not create a nuclear bomb,
they must either negotiate an agreement with Tehran or
lead to the collapse of the Ayatollahs' power.

The latter would probably mean a conflict on a much larger scale
than bombing targeted at nuclear installations, no?

Peace is better than war
is my motto.

I suspect either satellite or boots on the ground intelligence would confirm any movement of materials, the strikes I'd venture back up it not being moved.

IMO, Our noses, and noses worldwide, would be in danger if Iran was allowed to have a nuclear bomb.
I see an increasingly erratic US with no coherent foreign policy as more of a danger to the world currently. Iran does not have a nuclear bomb and talks would have been better than strikes. The situation is now a lot more dangerous than it was just a couple of weeks ago.

And let's not forget about the Strait of Ormuz/Hormuz
(the northern cost of the strait belongs to Iran)
separating the Arab Bay from the Indian Ocean.

25 percent of global oil extraction is transported through it,
oh, and 20 percent of liquefied natural gas.

I guess we all can predict increase in energy prices if the conflict escalates.

How do China and Russia get their oil, might be biting off the hand that feeds.

Hmmm...

The fall of the Ayatollahs may change Iran into a fallen state -
you know,
reminiscent of current Libya
(in constant conflict, spilling into the entire region.)

Recipe for chaos?
Actually, the whole Middle East is a kind of a dangerous "powder keg", now.
As for Iran, it is already a fallen state with its aggressive ideology
without value to human life;
the state where religious fanatics are dragging the country into the dark ages,
while they are working maniacally on developing nuclear weapons.

Therefore, Iranian nuclear program is recognized by international community as a global threat.
In a beautiful idealistic world all disagreements should be resolved through different diplomatic treaties, agreements, negotiations etc. However, the real world is very far from the rosy dream of universal prosperity and peace.

Thus, often our leaders in charge, which are mostly men, resort to forceful measures to resolve conflicts. So, there are mainly two possible outcomes to me: if we are lucky-we'll live in a peaceful secure world, if not-we'll find ourselves in chaos.

UN statement June 12th and the update from the IAEA elevated the situation to a red flag warning. The US was desperately trying to negotiate over the last 10 days, to no avail. Clearly, per the IAEA they were in violation of the 2015 agreement. Clearly, the US has extraordinary intelligence, as does Israel, the United Nations and the IAEA. Moo...

The UN-backed atomic watchdog passed a resolution on Thursday declaring that Iran is not complying with its obligations regarding nuclear non-proliferation.

The development follows serious warnings from the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) earlier this week that inspectors have been unable to determine whether Iran’s nuclear programme was “exclusively peaceful” – as per the terms of the 2015 nuclear deal from which the United States subsequently withdrew.

A fresh round of negotiations between Washington and Tehran is slated to begin on Saturday in Oman, according to news reports, amid heightened geopolitical tensions linked to rumours of an impending Israeli attack on Iran.

Following Thursday’s resolution vote by the IAEA’s board of governors – which passed by a vote of 19 for, three against and 11 abstentions - Iran’s atomic energy body reportedly announced plans to open a new uranium enrichment plant and increase production of enriched fissile material.

Growing concerns ..... More in press release

"Iran's Parliament Votes To Close Straits of Hormuz After US Attacks.

The Iranian Parliament
has voted in support of closing the Strait of Hormuz,
one of the world's most critical oil transit chokepoints,
according to media reports."

"Iran orders closure of Strait of Hormuz —

putting one-fifth of world’s oil supply at risk.

The move,
which could block $1 billion in oil shipments per day,
is likely to send oil prices soaring.

It will come into effect pending a final decision by Iran’s Supreme Council."

DNI Gabbard Opening Statement for the SSCI As Prepared on the 2025 Annual Threat Assessment of the U.S. Intelligence Community

The IC continues to assess that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon and Supreme Leader Khamanei has not authorized the nuclear weapons program he suspended in 2003. The IC is closely monitoring if Tehran decides to reauthorize its nuclear weapons program

Interesting that we criticize this happening in other countries, but when religious fanatics drag the US toward the dark ages, we call it just another day in politics.

It had to be done not only for the safety of Israel and America but the world. I pray for the Iranian people that they may be liberated and set free from the terrorist regime they have been forced to live under for 47 years.

It didn't *have* to be done. It was done because we wanted to flex our muscles. But even if they wanted to do to flex muscles, there's still a right and a wrong way to go about it. That's what bothers me more than the bombing itself. We have now grown accustomed to just shrugging off unConstitutional acts that put ALL of us in danger.

MOO.

<snipped for focus>

President Trump advised the leadership of both the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives - the Speaker of the House and the Majority Leader of the Senate.
So only advising his administration of what can be perceived as an act of war? If he felt so righteous in his decision why not advise other members of his plan? There was a time when the Gang of Eight which was 8 individuals who were comprised of both parties who were privy to the machinations of the administration so that any aggressive action against a sovereign nation would not be perceived as a unilateral move by a rogue government. Attacking foreign nations with 30,000 pound bombs can be perceived as an act of war, whether approved by Congress or not.

On another note, why ignore his pick for head of DNI Tulsi Gabbard who said there was no intel that Iran was even close to have nuclear weapons. I'm getting a sense of deja vu here when George W. was advised there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, only to find out the intel was incorrect. A pointless war happened because Secretary of State Colin Powell was given faulty intel. Who's intel was Trump basing his decision on if not the head of the Department of National Intelligence?

Pentagon first briefing 8:00 a.m. this morning. The first couple of minutes are scratchy but it clears up. It is amazing to hear this very intricate execution of MIDNIGHT HAMMER. I am in awe of our great military. God bless the men and women of our great military, watch over them and keep them safe. Moo....
