Phoenix engineer Robert Atherton, 67, was going through an old suitcase when he discovered a 1964 parking ticket from a vacation in Italy he'd taken with high school buddies. So he worked out what the $1.50 fine was worth in today's money, and sent $50 to the town hall in Liguria, Northern Italy.

He also sent a note apologizing for his late payment of the fine he'd got for parking his hired Vespa in the wrong place; all 18,000 days. Italian authorites are reported to be pleased but absolutely astounded.

I love that Vespa but those jeans? Is that how front jeans' pockets were designed in the 60s? Most peculiar!
