Putting my suspicious cat eyes on, I can certainly see some underhanded and purposeful " slow walking" in this investigation. My trust in LE corruption there is 50-50. The island is known for BIG $$ ( think Jeffrey Epstein) and big money movements. Bane was an accountant? I believe before his wannabe Gilligan enterprise. Sshh! Be vewwy vewwy quiet!!

How do you not have the proper vehicles and equipment at your disposal to be amphibious? This seems beyond amateurish. It reminds me of the Natalee Holloway “investigation”.

The USVI is very poor, even though there are wealthy people with luxury homes there. Investigators probably have access to some harbor patrol craft, but not something that has enough fuel for a longer range/duration search. Local LE probably depend on the USCG for more capable craft. Also, if they are using divers, they need a suitably equipped dive boat.

My reply was to the article stating that the investigators were scrambling to charter a boat just to locate the missing yacht and/or RB. None of this makes sense to me. How does the FBI “lose” the yacht? Was no one watching, even with one eye open? I can’t even imagine how frustrated Sarm’s family must be at this trudgingly slow investigation. So much time has passed for a body or evidence to deteriorate or be removed. The excuses are mind-boggling to me as to how this entire scenario from her disappearance to present time has continued. If any local small police department can’t handle any given case, then another operation should handle it. Not only for the safety of tourists but the reputation of the area. IMO. Poor Sarm.

It was the FBI who had to charter a boat. They're based in Puerto Rico so it kind of makes sense. But wouldn't USVIPD have a boat they could use? Scratchin' my head...

And to add: I agree @WildOrchid - I'm usually confident in LE but this case seems like a worst case scenario by an inadequate PD.

Tabloid sensationilist paper in my opinion. Garbage writing. In my opinion.

We now have a source for them watching a film when they returned to the boat - RB told one of Sarm's best friends, Kate.

It contradicts the story they went to sleep at around 10pm. It's not a 1/2 hour discrepancy - more like over an hour.

Could even be to account for noises from the boat, if anyone heard any, IMO. That was the defense used by a young South African, Henri van Breda - neighbors reported hearing loud commotion from the house and he said he and his family were watching a very loud movie.
