I had to urge my sons probation officer on why there was no follow up in any of his probation orders. Like anger management, addictions. Ect.
Well low and behold he just had his first anger management session yesterday after being out of jail for one year. Ridiculous. Jmo.

Are we sure it's not a fake account? it happens a lot. I gave up FB years ago so kinda out of that loop.

It’s the same account, if you look on the first thread for the link to his Facebook and click on it, this profile now pops up. But the link was posted way back on the first thread the day this story broke. We can’t see his friends list anymore, but the friends he did have listed before his profile was edited all seem to have this “new” BA profile on their friends lists. (Sorry if that’s confusing I am trying to stay within TOS)

The one that is now gone was his, I read every post as soon as I heard his name.

It’s not gone, it’s been edited.

Often if they are court ordered the individual doesn’t truly go to the sessions seeking help. Just checking the box. Some places the individual has to pay for the court ordered treatment. Which I believe does increase the chances of the individual actually being forthcoming in the sessions. But just by a little.
It’s interesting how some make a fuss about no one helping them- but when it is offered or even mandated, they don’t want it.
They want help on their terms.
( walking towards my soap box again ).
Then maybe he never went at all, or at least not long enough to accomplish anything. I assume his self medicating likely had something to do with it. He stopped showing up for probation because he knew he would test positive for drugs and he wasn't complying with treatment.
He must have anticipated spending time in prison either way.
It would be interesting to find out what witnesses have to say about his behavior in the few months leading up to the crime. Imo

I am so sorry everyone. I literally fell asleep with my fingers on the keyboard sitting in my chair. I only woke up because my fat head fell forward and crashed on my computer.

Please continue the discussion here. I will be bringing more posts over right now.
I hope your head is okay.

I want to clarify about the insanity defense discussions going on. It is SO hard to successfully lodge one of these defenses. His actions surrounding the murder alone make it very unlikely he could win on such a defense. Further, there will have to be a vast amount of expertise that also determines he is insane, which he is not. I wouldn’t be surprised if the defense posits this as their tactic; what other option has he given them? They know he did it so it won’t be a “who done it” type of defense. Rather, it’ll be “yes he did, but here’s why he’s insane and not culpable”. But in my professional opinion (I’m a prosecutor), it won’t work. He’s not insane, he’s just evil.

Dear @riolove77,

Thank you for your informative post!

So glad you are on this thread to share your legal knowledge. Greatly appreciated!

What is the policy if the name on the social media account has been changed, as in this instance?

IMO, it shouldn’t matter if we are using the original link. It’s still him, no matter what anyone is calling him.

I’m not sure, maybe because the name has been changed to a name associated with a victim

I'm curious if the DP can still be sought, regardless of what LE agreed to in order to find Lizzy. Do they have to honor that agreement?

I don't think they've mentioned yet if it was a set deal or not. Welcome to Websleuths!

From the press conference yesterday, they indicated that the deal had been made with the county prosecutors with input from LE and that they expected the deal to be honored as they were "men of their word". I also wonder if in this case, where the family of the victim is also the family of the accused, the death penalty may not provide as much closure for the family as it might in other cases.

It doesn't matter what the name of the FB is, as long as it can be proved the account is theirs, ie from posts, friends list, links etc. Go to missing teenagers and you'll see some great examples.

Yes, I think they do. Imo

IMO, I'm certain the mom never thought her brother would use her kitchen knife and a pvc pipe to murder her 5 year old daughter after being invited over. If she had left the little girl alone with him, then that's another story but she didn't.

Regardless of how tough some in society might be on her right now, it won't compare to how tough she will be on herself, IMO.

This is the only person who committed this awful crime against sweet Lizzy.

I don't think anyone here is blaming the mother.
Stating that people should use more caution is to be commended.
There's so much that we don't know.
Some people really don't trust even their nearest and dearest relatives.
While others try to see the good in people no matter what they do --which might be a credit to them , and not to the evildoer.

Ita.

Opinions are allowed as long as they're respectfully stated , and are sometimes added to with a 'caveat'.

Quoting my post : If anyone here at WS is thinking the parents are being blamed that's not what it is. Caution is being urged, true.
Apologies to anyone who feels offended.
The only person to blame is the garbage who murdered Lizzie.

It's a sad fact that sometimes the most dangerous people to our children (speaking generally) are close relatives and friends .
We teach our children more about 'stranger danger' than 'relatives danger'.
If our kids come to us with fears or are even just 'uncomfortable' around a known relative--- listen closely and take them seriously.

Family can be more predatory than any stranger-- mainly because relatives and even close friends have our trust !

AW has hurt his relatives in the worst way.
Hope he finds out what fear is in prison every day of the rest of his life !
