Petrov asked strangers to help her get to Las Vegas, police said.
Officers said they are unsure why she wanted to get to Las Vegas, but suspect she was trying to meet a man she was messaging with on social media.

Glines and Petrov communicated over Instagram for months, sending explicit photos and messages, according to court records.

Police in Miami, Florida, also are searching for Petrov and investigating a local man suspected of communicating with her through social media, a spokeswoman for South Jordan said.

Picture on left appears to show a sizeable bruise/discoloration on her left forearm. Hoping this isn’t indicative of any violence in her home or school life and/or related to her desire to run away.

Do we know if she has any birthmarks? The same dark spots seem to be visible in the image of her in the blue t-shirt as well.

I did not see any mentioned in the notice for her, and cannot tell in the image of her as a young child due to the position of her arm, but did notice the area in more than one of the pics of her as a teen.

Is it typical that authorities would keep the nature of new tips secret from a 15 year old missing girl’s parents? I can only think of 2 reasons why they’d do that. 1) concern parents would make public those tips even if asked not to or 2) ……

Unless those pics were taken very close together? I noticed she seems to have participated in outdoor activities a lot too, so could also have been a sports related injury--she is skiing, hiking, etc in the pics as well. Not unusual to have bruises from a fall, but I did notice the marks in more than one pic so if she isn't found soon, I think it might be good information to have.

"Free" isn't quite the word I would use at this moment. The more exposure this case gets, the more he's going to have to look over his shoulder.

He's obviously on the run, hopefully with Alisa. No one wants her to be with this creep, but she would be alive. So there's that.

His job wasn't the greatest. I haven't posted it here because I don't want randos phone bombing his place of work. That being the said, it won't be long before they run out of money and have to start getting desperate. When suspects get desperate, they make mistakes. When they make mistakes, they get caught.

This is definitely not going how he thought it would. He was thinking this was going to be easy. He'd get with some young girl (because older women have standards), impress her with his Pokemon Card collection, bang-a-rang Peter, and then send her on her way.

More than likely, the company that he worked for, the one he was going to be in Vegas for, would have paid for his ticket and hotel. That will give police an idea whether or not Alisa made it to the hotel. If so, they will have an idea of how far behind they are based on when they left (and if they left together).

Thank you! Poor guy having to explain. I had no idea what an oiling cattle is? Googled, and he must mean a cattle oiler? Anyway, helpful to know it is not a birthmark. I cannot imagine her parents terror. It is awful raising kids in the tech age and finding balance.

I'd think some kind-hearted stranger might think to give her some $$ for a bus ticket. Why haven't we heard anything about her on any buses, or from any CCTV from the bus station in Las Vegas?

I would think that would have been the obvious place to start a very detailed search.

If LE thinks she accepted a ride from a stranger for a driving trip of 5.5 hours, I think it is needle in a haystack time. Maybe survey all the gas station footage for a sight of her getting out of a vehicle for a restroom stop or leg stretching.
