Sure can!!! Similar to meth teeth for sure.

"One long-term effect of crack is crack lip. The hot temperature of the crack pipe pressed against the lip can cause blistering, bruising, and cracked lips that are generally sore. The constant motion of sucking on the pipe can also affect the teeth. People who smoke crack for months can develop broken teeth or teeth that look yellow and black, which occurs as the enamel and teeth decay. Smoking around others is also dangerous because the ammonia used in the creation of the crack creates harmful fumes that hover in the air around the smoker."

Chances are looking up that the UID was a drug abuser.

Also posted the following to my fb page and added Carl's picture.

Do you know me?

Can you identify this young woman? She was found deceased on a freight train that traveled from Las Vegas, Nevada to Beaver County, Utah on January 13th, 2014.
Please help us put a name to her by taking a look at the pictures below. She has a distinctive tattoo, blond hair, blue eyes, and is between the ages of 18-40.

If you have any information please contact;

I heard back from the Sgt in charge of the case -- am currently waiting for his permission to post the body of his response.

Has anyone considered suicide? She jumped herself? But the no shoes thing gets me.

I'm trying to track down all the small local papers between Utah and LA. I'm going to send them the information, pretty much the same text as Sleuthster used.

If she jumped onto the top of the tanker, then she must have jumped from an overpass. Upthread, someone posted that there were only a couple of overpasses along the entire route. It would be worth checking them for a pair of abandoned shoes.

Another possibility is that she was at a yoga class prior to the misadventure. That would be odd, but might explain the lack of footwear.

I just can't imagine that someone threw her onto the train, or carried her up there.

I can't get a really clear picture of her teeth. Is it possible that her teeth are chipped and discoloured from someone striking her in the mouth? If so, once she is identified, it might not be too hard to find out if she was abused, and find her killer.

I really don't think she was thrown or jumped--it would be very difficult for her to stay put for six hours on a moving train. JMO

Got permission!!

In response to your questions
1- There were no shoes with the decedent.
2- There has been no official COD. As of yet the tox results have not come back. Initial examination indicated exposure/hypothermia. There were no indications of trauma/wounds.
3. The tanker was not leaking any type of chemicals. The access doors and valves were closed, no indications of having been opened or tampered with. Tanker contained sulphuric acid. The tanker appeared to be in good working order with no signs of corrosion. The tanker did have ladders on both sides of the tanker. The ladders were easily accessible from the ground to the top of the tanker.
4. California
5. Estimated time of death was consistent with the time of being in Vegas and travel to Milford Utah. The train had been parked in Milford's train yard for approximately 2 hours before the decedent was discovered by another train engineer.
6. Unknown drug use. She did not have signs of needle marks, however; her teeth did have signs of being worn or ground down which is common with methamphetamine use.
7. Not other tattoos.
8. Lividity matched the position of the body. No signs of trauma or bruising.

I believe I counted a total of 5-6 overpasses, mainly near cities.

Maybe, but it looks like she was wearing a co-ordinating outfit, along with a bracelet and ring. If the outfit was clean, she probably looked fairly neatly dressed. I'm not sure what drug addicts wear, but I would think that the clothing might not be in such good repair, and bracelet and ring would have been ditched ages ago.

See below. The nose was iritated/raw. However that could have been from the hypothermia. Sulfuric acid is baisically battery acid. If the hatches where sealed I can't imaging she would have inhaled enough to kill her. I just can't understand if they think she died up there where her shoes are. They could have fallen off. Also it must have been cold enough for a jacket or over shirt. I'm surprised she was traveling like that.

What are the potential health effects of sulfuric acid?

Main Routes of Exposure: Inhalation. Skin contact. Eye contact.

Inhalation: Not expected to be an inhalation hazard unless heated or misted. VERY TOXIC, can cause death. Can cause severe irritation of the nose and throat. Can cause life-threatening accumulation of fluid in the lungs (pulmonary edema). Symptoms may include coughing, shortness of breath, difficult breathing and tightness in the chest. Long-term damage may result from a severe short-term exposure.

The answer to #5 makes it sound like she died right after the train left Vegas or right before. That's pretty quick, unless that train sat in Vegas for a while before heading to Utah and she died before the train even left Vegas.

You know..the "Days" thing is sticking with me. What if she were found or caught in the train yard and things went wrong after that. Or a person just "put" her body there who happens to work in a train yard; or placed where they were loading or unloading cars. (?) I mean the blood pooled there (on her back) that probably matches the "grating" on the train car. So my question was she already dead when put there? Or did she die on the car? jmho

Edit nvm question answered when you posted the reply from the sergeant thanks for that. XD

The SGT working the case was able to clarify -- said preliminary exams show she died of exposure/hypothermia and that they believe she was on the train from NV to UT. Though, before the train came through LV it had come from California.

So basically although we're not sure how she stayed up there for six hours, so far the findings point to that somehow she did. Like the people on STP said though, its a mystery why she'd go up there with no shoes or backpack or coat.

Also, fingerprints are entered, have been run in the AFIS system for east and west states.
