SUSPECT IN CUSTODY

Dear Websleuths Members.

We are not a political forum. However, there are times when politics and crime mash up. This is one of those times.
The rules for this discussion thread will be very strict. The rules are as follows:

NO POLITICAL OPINIONS. NO SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS WITH POLITICAL OPINIONS.

*NO PERSONAL COMMENTS ABOUT THE VICTIM, POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE.

*IF YOU BRING UP KIRK's POLITICAL VIEWS AS A POSSIBLE MOTIVE, YOU MUST POST A LINK FROM A MAINSTREAM MEDIA SITE THAT BACKS UP KIRK'S VIEWS. YOU CAN'T JUST SAY "HERE IS WHAT KIRK BELIEVED."

*NO THEORIES BASED ON ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE FACTS AT HAND.

*IF YOU POST SOMETHING AS FACT, YOU MUST POST A MAINSTREAM MEDIA LINK TO BACK IT UP.

*NO COMMENTS ABOUT PRESIDENT TRUMP

*A warning on the first offense and a timeout after that.

Please keep emotion out of it. Stick to the facts and theories based on facts. This is the only way we can keep this thread open for discussion.

Here is a Media Only thread for Charlie Kirk

These rules may seem harsh, but the rules are the only way we can keep the discussion from blowing up.
Thank you.

A Utah Valley University spokesperson has confirmed that: “Tyler James Robinson is a third-year student in the electrical apprenticeship program at Dixie Technical College. He briefly attended Utah State University (one semester in 2021) and received concurrent enrollment credit through Utah Tech University while in high school (2019-2021).”

The suspect is being held without bail in Utah County Jail on the orders of a state magistrate judge.

According to court records obtained by CNN, magistrate judge Shawn Rice Howell signed an order to hold Tyler Robinson this morning.

I just will never understand how people can get so invested in topics that they will kill over it. Why?
Sadly I think the internet has become real life for some of the younger generation. It's addictive and if they're not connecting or doing activities in real life I think the line is blurred for some.

Some of the content out there is pure mantra-driven info and targeting the young, male demographic. If they listen or are on it 8+ hrs a day, I think they believe every word.

I think this guy will have podcasts he listened to as well and not just gaming.

Robinson had become more political in recent years, officials said.

'In the conversation with another family member, Robinson mentioned Charlie Kirk was coming to UVU. They talked about why they didn’t like him and the viewpoints that he had,' the governor said.

The suspect reportedly talked about disliking Charlie Kirk at a recent dinner with family, where he mentioned the conservative was coming to Utah, authorities said.

Robinson allegedly said at the dinner that 'Kirk was full of hate and spreading hate.'

Bullet casings discovered by investigators had several inscriptions engraved on them, Cox said. The casing that had been fired read: 'notices bulges OWO what’s this?'

Cox said there were three unfired casings:

One read, 'hey fascist! catch!' with an up arrow symbol, right arrow symbol, and three down arrow symbols.

Another one read: 'oh bella ciao bella ciao bella ciao ciao ciao,' Cox said.

The third fired casing read: 'if you read this you are gay lmao.'

Charlie Kirk's assassin motive revealed

This is a very misleading article, IMO.

I don't feel elated like I thought I would when they made an arrest.

This is bittersweet. There is a huge problem here when these (mostly) young, lost, zoned out online addicted men keep doing these crimes. It'll keep happening if something doesn't change. Another topic, but wish this would stop.

I feel for the killer's parents and family. I feel for the Kirk family as well of course. Sad all the way around :(

Anyways @BrianJohnson I'm replying to your comment replying to someone else regarding mental health/sociopathy and narcissism.

I fear that he's not proven to be mentally ill or proven to have ASPD or narcissistic disorder.

I fear that we have a senseless young man who has zero diagnosed issue, no true political/radicalised stance, who simply killed a man because he thought it would make him look cool to the internet and be fAmOuS.

That is to me way more terrifying than say a psychopathic killer or a paranoid schizophrenic killer. It's terrifying because there's kids like that everywhere. Young people who follow trends blindly online, think nothing of laughing at dying children on the news. Young people who want to be tiktok famous by any means, who aspire to be world known and are so desensitised to violence and death that they will go out and harm someone just to "troll"

It's terrifying but I fear that's what we have in this case and I dread to think of what's to come.

IMO

The fact that we've reached a point in time where a freaking OwO meme ends up engraved on the casing of a bullet used to murder somebody is breaking my brain a little bit ngl. Like, it reads like some kid's terrible 2010s WattPad fiction, and yet it's the actual news

Can you add links to your posts? Makes reading/catching up easier. TIA

I believe that this is in reference to an Italian folk song "Beautiful Goodbye". If so, the song has been used by various progressive Italian resistance movements (both armed and unarmed) for quite some time.

One thing about this case that has amazed me since last night. The jump from the side of the building. The building was said to be 15’ tall where he jumped. Given average height around 6’ that’s about a 9’ drop with no injuries. I know he landed in the grass, but carrying a backpack and a rifle, it’s amazing he didn’t do so much as twist an ankle.

Politicians have been assassinated, in my lifetime, since JFK. I do believe a political assassination caused ww1. I don't think it's so complicated. Hopefully kids these days are raised with a core of decency. And that refers to would be killers and those who purposefully provoke.

Little did he realize what gift he was giving to the prosecution and all the jury members will have to take his memes and LMAO into consideration when determining his sentence. Premeditated. JMO
