What can they do with a forearm imprint
What can they do with a forearm imprint if he's wearing sleeves?

if he's wearing sleeves?
I wonder if it tells them anything about the use of the gun?

Maybe tell them if he's right or left handed? I don't know, wondered the same. You can estimate height from forearm length using specific formulas.

CNN pointing out that the video of the man lying on the roof where the sniper was believed to have been fired was take one hour prior to the shooting. So if that's him, he was positioned for a long time.

Officials said he entered the building at 11:52 and the shooting occurred at 12:20. That is 28 minutes.

If that is correct, then I wonder if he had left things up on the roof from an earlier visit and that is what was seen one hour prior to the shooting.

I don't know anything about guns - what is the skill level required for this shot?
Reasonable skill. IMO this person had practiced with this rifle plinking around at 200 yards or more to be able to pull it off.

That said, a bolt action rifle like this is very simple to load, cycle and shoot.

I noticed the gun found has an optic, it does make it easier to make a distance shot.

As @MassGuy said, depending on where it was aimed it was off too high or too low to hit CK where it did.

The ring camera timestamp reads 11:49.

In the TMZ article, it says the FBI said the individual arrived on campus at 11:52am. Didn’t the shooting occur at 12:20pm?

“TMZ obtained chilling video that shows a man dressed in all black matching the description of the FBI's person of interest hobbling down a residential street Wednesday in Orem, Utah at 11:49 AM ... heading toward the Utah Valley University campus just a couple of blocks away.

Remember, the FBI has said the individual arrived on campus at 11:52 AM.”

If the "cheering guy" was an accomplice, it would surely be exceptionally stupid to draw attention to himself by cheering.
Maybe he is exceptionally stupid?

That aligns with the shooter's entering the building at 11:52 as authorities indicated in the article I linked in my last post.

If that really is him with a gun in his pants that proves your point how sloppy this is.
For sure! He stands out like a sore thumb walking like that. I think it would draw some attention. I'm curious how he navigated the stairs with his gun if it was down his pants.

I think this is going to be a gun this person has had for years maybe for actual hunting. It seems if someone was going to buy a gun for this type of thing they would buy one that can be broken down and put together so it would be easy to bring it in and out without much thought. It doesn't appear the gun LE has shown photos of is the type to be taken apart.

Did this person not have a vehicle? Did they live near the school? Did they think parking far away and walking in and out would be better than parking at the school?

She must have misspoken.Looks like a half hour then based on the timeline. Still a considerable time though, if it was that long.

Isn’t it crazy hot in Utah right now? i would think a roof top would burn the skin easily. Maybe it is cooler there than I realize.

If that's him he surely couldn't have walked from very far like that!

What happened to the description of the shooter is all black tactical clothing? The photo being shown doesn't even resemble the description, nor does it resemble the shooter on the roof.

Parking on campus is restricted to those with parking passes. From UVU's website:

"Permits are required to park anywhere on campus. Your vehicle’s license plate serves as your permit and needs to be facing outwards to be scanned by the digital readers. If your license plate is not viewable you will receive a citation."

If those videos do show the rifle down the pants leg, I wonder if at least a minimum height can be determined by the dimensions of the recovered weapon, simply by how tall someone would have to be for it to fit in the available space.

Exactly. But it doesn't align with what @MassGuy posted.

Maybe there are two persons involved. The "sniper" and the guy who "delivered" the gun to him?

There were around 3,000 people at the event Wednesday afternoon at the university
But only six police officers were present, according to Utah Valley University’s chief of police, Jeff Long, who added that Mr. Kirk also had a private security team that traveled with him.
Across the country, many universities have only modest campus security forces, and the costs of protecting events can carry extraordinary price tags.

"...The targeted killing presents a new danger to universities, which routinely host high-profile speakers on open campuses.
S. Daniel Carter, a campus safety consultant, rejected the idea that campuses should restrict entry and intensify security checks in response to the shooting.

“The essence of American higher education is the open campus,” Carter said. “We’re not going to lock everything down.”
Carter, who said that his expertise is not in large-event security..."
Rbm.

Please know I think the entirety of the blame falls solely on the killer.

I have not worked for security, but as a layperson's perspective : a possible step in the right direction would be (1.) To deploy drones over the tops of buildings, and (2.) Also make sure the entrances to any buildings are guarded during the event.

It wouldn't have to be permanent, and only used when the students are gathered and while the speaker is giving their presentation ?
For the student's safety as well.

Just doing number (1) and (2) might have saved Kirk's -- or anyone else speaking outdoors -- life ?
Wouldn't need to have LE trained snipers, just basic security that would be effective but maybe less costly -- which was mentioned towards the end of the first link above.

There shouldn't be a need to lock everything down, which would be impractical at best, but take measures to make it difficult or nearly impossible, for a perpetrator to get a shot off from a roof or upper window ?
Imo.
