Is anyone else reminded of Thomas Crooks yearbook photo where he wore a shirt with Mount Rushmore over the US flag? Seems like an eerily similar theme.

Looks like a cellphone in the right front pocket. They'll definitely be able to trace that.

What is that outline on his thigh in the new photos? It almost looks imo like one of those huge phone cases with the corner bumpers that I've seen on construction sites, or is there such a thing as a small, semi-soft ammo case, tactical equipment, where you'd load just a few cartridges horizontally that would make those ridges? Hard to tell real dimensions without knowing the individual's size.

Awesome point BigCityAccountant,

I wish there was a super-quick facial recognition program that could be run through all of UTAH's driver licenses and ALL of the student ID's ever given out at that University.

Moo/pure speculation.

If he left that turned on, then that really would be a rookie mistake.

So from the newly released photos it looks like he is wearing a sleeveless black undershirt type of shirt over a long sleeved shirt. Someone earlier in this thread mentioned a kind of adhesive or sew-on decal based on the logo on the Disabled Vets org donor shirts maybe available on eBay? It looks like that could be the case with this. Sorry if I am repeating anyone’s previous observation.

Don't think he had time to disassemble it before fleeing, so how did he conceal it ?
Omo.
It is possible that the stock can easily be unbolted, which means the rifle can be put in a case of about half the length of the assembled rifle. But we really don't know yet.

He looks very young, IMO.
Younger than I thought he would be, if that's the shooter.

The new pics....geez he looks young to me. A couple of them also gives me the impression he MIGHT be of Asian heritage, third picture.

The first ones looked older. These really do look young.

I wonder what he is carrying in the backpack.
Different set of clothes, maybe? That is what I would do, get the heck out of the area and change in to something that looks absolutely nothing like what I was wearing. Also looks like they have their own bullet proof vest on. I see something that looks like one at the neckline in several images.
