Different set of clothes, maybe? That is what I would do, get the heck out of the area and change in to something that looks absolutely nothing like what I was wearing. Also looks like they have their own bullet proof vest on. I see something that looks like one at the neckline in several images.

This is what I was thinking, maybe another hat. A travel gun stand or whatever that would be called maybe to help steady? I know 0 gun things though

are these new pics before or after? on campus? where's the rifle?

Bottom right photo - I think you can clealy see the gun stuffed down his right trouser leg.
Would he walk with a rifle and cell phone against his leg?

In the photo of him going up the stairs his right leg bends which doesn’t seem to be consistent with a gun in his pants. Idk…

It is a really horrific disturbing video.

Many people can stomach seeing a crime scene with blood around the victim but this video is unlike anything one would expect. I’d categorize this as horror. Ironically this is something that could easily be attributed to AI, but…it’s not.

Someone knows those jeans. Whatever is carried in the front right pocket is always carried there, and it is unusual. That pattern is distinctive.

In the video linked earlier where the suspect limped along the street beforehand and then was shown going back the other way afterwards, it seemed to me that when he reappeared, jogging, from behind the houses on the way back after the shooting, he was wearing white or lighter colored clothes, maybe even shorts? I should go back and rewatch but that's how it struck me at the time.

It also seemed like he was behind the house(s) for longer than it would take to just walk through the yard(s), so when I saw what looked like different clothes, my first thought was that he had changed clothes back there.

MOO

They did.
IMO.
Then they already know who he is. And with cameras everywhere and the Real ID, and AI, they know. So why torture the country? Just me wondering out loud. Do we do their jobs for them now?

Anybody else see something running up his right calf in the new surveillance pics? Specifically the one from behind of him going up the stairs

From what I can tell watching the zoom in of the sniper, after he took his shot he ran towards the north side of the building and not towards the walkway.

The building appears to be built along a slope and jumping off the roof on the north side isn’t that big of a drop.
That's sounds right.

"Utah Chief of Security Beau Mason announced that there is good video footage of the suspected perpetrator's route. The FBI has been able to trace his precise path across the campus, from the moment he entered the grounds. He then ascended stairs to the roof, from where he allegedly fired shots. On the other side of the building, he jumped off the roof and walked into a neighborhood."

It reminds me of a carpal tunnel wrist brace.

The Mauser 98: The Best Bolt-Action Rifle Ever Made?

The Mauser 98 (and the WWII model, the Mauser K98k) have been touted as some of the best bolt action rifles ever made. Here's why.

Is it likely that the rifle corresponds to a permit or a sales history or was stolen? Will LE find records? Or are there a lot "floating" around?
This rifle design is more than 100 years old, and has been manufactured in numerous countries all over the globe. A German pre-WWI design, it was widely exported and licensed copies made in European countries and in China. It was a standard military rifle in many armies worldwide, but variants for hunting are still manufactured in Europe. It is known for its accuracy. Some Mausers are of recent manufacture, and others are rebuilt military rifles.

Most US states do not require permits for rifles. Depending on age, it may have a traceable serial number.

I missed the news about a palm print and shoe prints. I'd like to read more about that. Could you please share the link? TIA
The BBC article this morning definitely mentioned a shoe print and a forearm print, but when I returned to the link later they had added other posts and I couldn't find it. But they definitely confirmed that information.

Apparently those pics/video are the best they have right now, that's why they're asking for help/witnesses and offering a big reward.
IMO.
