they have said he jumped off the roof- anyone know how high that roof is? parkour anyone? Seems dicey to me unless you have jumped off this building before and know you can land easily. I am assuming(?) that he does not appear on the stairwell cameras leaving. all IMO.

If you look in Google maps off the side, there are a lot of trees. Grabbing a branch can slow a person enough to land safely or if it is strong enough climb across. It kind of depends on the tree and the distance. There might also be a light pole to shimmy down within the trees

The article I linked above says the building was closer to the ground at the north corner, and so --not a far distance to jump, if the distance is accurately reported.

The universities don't and won't care to start providing security unless and until the survivors or victims sue them for failing to do so; and the speakers probably either can't or don't want to pay them/drag private security around with them, depending upon how much money the speakers have at their disposal.

There were, however, IIRC, changes made in how Trump appearances were guarded after he was nearly assassinated; and that's (IMO) because Secret Service (a), exists as an entity; (b), are at his disposal - which they were not at Kirk's.

It seems like he jumped off the roof on the hill based on the evidence markers. (Photo from REUTERS/Cheney Orr). MOO but this is probably where police obtained the palm print and footprint, since the roof of the building is covered in gravel (bottom photo, also from REUTERS/Cheney Orr).

Check this out. Bottom left corner with the two vehicles. You make a couple short jumps from the top and you're on the ground.

I think the news has said that CK was not the president or a member of congress- as a speaker, he was just a member of the public, so not typically thought to be a target.

He is just a guy, invited to a college to speak his opinion. Not a politician, not a lawmaker not elected. Silenced. Just a guy, talking.

Yeah, his team would have coordinated with campus police. If they held this event, they must have been satisfied with what the school was providing.

In the video linked earlier where the suspect limped along the street beforehand and then was shown going back the other way afterwards, it seemed to me that when he reappeared, jogging, from behind the houses on the way back after the shooting, he was wearing white or lighter colored clothes, maybe even shorts? I should go back and rewatch but that's how it struck me at the time.

It also seemed like he was behind the house(s) for longer than it would take to just walk through the yard(s), so when I saw what looked like different clothes, my first thought was that he had changed clothes back there.

The video is not very good, but I see a dark colored shirt with short sleeves, dark shorts with white stripes and no backpack coming from behind the house. I'd bet something was found there.

a lot of rock climbers in Utah so maybe a piece of cake. It also looks on maps, as if there could be a path to another building's roof (Computer Science Bldg), if I am reading the aerials correctly.

Have you seen this video? He definitely seems to be scooting his leg an awful lot. Or, idk how to describe it.. you’ll see if you haven’t already

I have, thank you. But look closely at how much the leg can bend in this video. I used to wear 501s exclusively and these look to be about that fit. If you were to put a 1 inch dowel all the way down to your ankle, your pant leg would not bend as much as it would if it only came down to maybe 3 inches below the bend of the knee. That is what I see here, either the barrel alone tucked in the waistband, or the whole thing tucked in a waistband with the stock tucked into a vest under the t-shirt. You still can't walk normally, but the amount of bend in the leg would differ. JMO based on many years of peglegging myself for some costume or play or the other. Placement matters depending on what kind of injury you wanted to mimic.
