UT - Charlie Kirk Murdered on Utah College Stage *Arrest*

In one of the pictures I think he looks possibly Asian. Obviously I’m unsure, but slim build, black hair and just something I can’t really define about the lower part of the face.

Just speculating.

ETA: I’m still trying to catch up on this thread, so I just saw your post, @whitelilac, about him possibly being of Asian heritage. Yes, for me that possibility looks strongest in that picture where he’s gazing across a white staircase.

New video has surfaced on social media showing the shooter in the distance after the assassination of Charlie Kirk at a university in Utah. It appears the shooter was on the roof of a campus building. We also explain the difference between a person of interest and a suspect. Derek Staahl has more.

Not too sure about the geography of the area, so could well be wrong, but is that another glimpse of the shooter @ 3:03?

We've seen the glimpse from the flag room but this is a different one filmed from the ground.

I don't think this shooter was paid, was part of any organization, or had any help whatsoever. History tells us he's going to be a lone wolf, with his own motivations for doing this. I think what is unusual is his level of planning. He knew exactly where he would have a clear line of sight, and seemed to be cognizant of security cameras. That hat and sunglasses also served to make him less identifiable to people who know him.

I keep coming back to Luigi Mangione, as they both demonstrated meticulous planning, had an entry and egress route, but were sloppy when it came to leaving evidence behind.

Luigi left his phone and a backpack (among other mistakes), while this guy left his gun.

This simply is not a crime you have any reasonable expectation of getting away with, as cameras are certain to nail you. Maybe he knew that, and he was just trying to buy time.

If there is DNA in this case, the suspect can be identified rather quickly...

Makes me wonder if that video of him limping that was "before" was really after an he did hurt himself in that jump down.

It also makes me wonder if that was the planned exit? That is a big jump so why would he risk getting hurt to escape like that?

Reading posts now so unsure if this was mentioned but I have to wonder if he was quite athletic and confident in his physical ability.

Maybe a skateboarding, snowboarder, karate or whatever sports that may require skill, agility and maybe some jumps.

Are you thinking this means that the FBI is trying to lure or coax someone who's hiding him into giving up his current whereabouts?...

Because if they know his name, he shouldn't be that tough to be found unless he's being sheltered someplace unexpected the FBI can't trace a name and face down to, IMO.

They must be concerned as well for potential bomb set up, traps, or LE being lured to be ambushed if they are to zone in one someone if at their home.

Yes, it was.

To me, it looks more like he tried to steady himself, then fell down, and had some trouble getting to his feet (might have injured one leg), and then took off.

If he is injured, he may not have felt pain right away. He was running on adrenalin; he just wanted to get away from the scene.

Once the adrenaline subsides, pain may set in with a vengeance. If so, hopefully they're not only checking neighborhood cameras, but possibly Walmart or CVS to see if anyone fitting his description bought pain-relief items.

you can have adrenaline for a few days. My guess is he would hide any injuries but is he really traveling to get away or just local and going on with life?

Yes I did see the video. It was just so brazen and risky to jump off the roof like that. Someone could have noticed, and there were a couple of people walking nearby.
That's why I could hardly believe it.
I guess walking back down to a floor and out was more risky.

Wondering if he maybe panicked after and wanted the quickest way out of there? Maybe his original plan was a different exit. JMO

I suppose it's possible, jmo, that he's fairly confident no one sufficiently closely related to him has ever submitted DNA anywhere. Beliefs of some kind against it, or from a country where that's not common.

The t-shirt is troubling me. Not because it’s unique, but because it’s so common.

I have the same shirt because someone gave it to me. He had donated to a veteran’s organization, I think Disabled Veterans of America, and received the shirt as a token of thanks.

Around here (NYC) there are enough veterans to make that shirt ubiquitous.

It may be helpful if in fact it could be traced that he donated to DVA himself, but how would they even begin to narrow it down?

Also the Adidas hat is too prevalent everywhere.

I do believe though that great detective work may be able to track it somehow. Or I hope so, at least.

I’m more hopeful though that somebody somewhere will instantly recognize him, and inform LE. Then it’s a matter of finding him.

I’m catching up on the news now. On CNN some commentators speculate that the shooter may have chosen that shirt in order to blend in with a right-wing crowd.

It doesn’t appear that he mingled in the crowd, but perhaps he did prior to going to the roof. That damned roof.

I hope time will tell.

Iirc Luigi was actually caught because he showed his face when he flirted with a hotel clerk. They needed his face, and then subsequently he was recognized some days later in a diner. I do not remember how authorities pinpointed the hotel though....video maybe during his escape from the site of his shooting?
