I'm watching FoxNews live and the President is on the show and he just said they have him in custody and he believes someone close to him turned him in. He said he just heard about it 5 minutes before he walked out to go on the show. He believes it will be announced later today.

I'll say IMO since I don't have a link, but it's on live TV right now.

Edited to add additional details. He said his family was involved in turning him in possibly the father.

Hate quoting my own post but building on the same idea with that hat and what looks like a little tail with the blob inside the triangle. What about something like this inside the triangle? NOT saying this is what is actually on the hat in question, just speculating:

It's a pretty big deal, evidently, to complete the Colorado Trail, it goes from Denver to Durango.

They got him? I'm seeing someone was released. NYTimes saying still at large.

If these sightings are true he may have also walked the distance from the building to the area of the tent Charlie was under, pre placed the weapon found and he used one which could be broken down to fit in backpack.

The article states the gun "was discovered wrapped in a towel." It was likely placed in an evidence box by investigators.

I have a question.
How would the perp know early where exactly the tent was to be situated?
I mean,
if he made earlier reconnaissance to choose the "best" spot.

Or,
was this particular roof adequate for any place of the tent? 🤔

If this is true then huge respect for this father, especially with the talk already about the death penalty being on the table. I also think it is safer for his son to be in custody, but it can't be easy to turn your child in.

There may have been quite fairly early protests about his appearance from those who didn't want to see it.

I did not say he is unknown out of the States. He is not very well known though, not well enough, IMO, to make a foreigner wanting to kill him. A foreigner that is after far right politicians would find plenty of these in his homeland, I'd say.

I have been listening to the radio, they broke in with national news that the assassin has been caught. Awaiting the scheduled news conference.
