Welcome to Websleuths, PT1960.Is this case still active? Does anyone know if the police are still looking for a suspect. Victim’s home is listed for sale.
Yes, agreed. I hope LE is at least keeping the family informed. MOOSeems strange but perhaps there is no obligation by law enforcement to update the status. Feel for Maureen’s loved ones who must want some closure.
I’m under the impression they know who did it, or at least was responsible for getting someone to pull the trigger. But don’t have enough evidence to prosecute. IMO if they haven’t got evidence by now they aren’t going to get it unless someone informs or confesses someday. It’s an active case —only because it’s too soon to declare it cold. Probably sitting on somebody’s desk getting no attention anymore. Would love to be wrong. She deserves better and no one should be able to get away with murder that easily.Welcome to Websleuths, PT1960.
AFAIK, LE is still investigating but we haven't had any news since April. MOO
The custody situation is where the answer to all of this will be found. It was ugly.
Someone/s wanted both Maureen and her husband dead. I believe both were seen inside their home by the killer/s and it was by sheer luck her husband survived. This is my own opinion gleaned from reports on the thread, and I really feel for her husband and family. I'd be terrified the killer/s might still come after me, so hope and pray he and the child can live in peace and safety. This is from the CDC (not me)
Homicide is one of the leading causes of death for women aged ≤44 years.* In 2015, homicide caused the death of 3,519 girls and women in the United States. Rates of female homicide vary by race/ethnicity (1), and nearly half of victims are killed by a current or former male intimate partner (2). To inform homicide and intimate partner violence (IPV) prevention efforts, CDC analyzed homicide data from the National Violent Death Reporting System (NVDRS) among 10,018 women aged ≥18 years in 18 states during 2003–2014. The frequency of homicide by race/ethnicity and precipitating circumstances of homicides associated with and without IPV were examined. Non-Hispanic black and American Indian/Alaska Native women experienced the highest rates of homicide (4.4 and 4.3 per 100,000 population, respectively). Over half of all homicides (55.3%) were IPV-related; 11.2% of victims of IPV-related homicide experienced some form of violence in the month preceding their deaths, and argument and jealousy were common precipitating circumstances. Targeted IPV prevention programs for populations at disproportionate risk and enhanced access to intervention services for persons experiencing IPV are needed to reduce homicides among women.
Just thought this was interesting anecdotally. But if Maureen’s husband was innocent because he was shot. Who else would have done this?
I don’t know if this true, but.....
It’s not always the husband. What an amazing coincidence that the shooter came over on a date that the young son was out of the home. And the wife is dead, husband survived. That is such a coincidence that men seem to survive these incidents, and the wife dies. Hmmm.
And the house is for sale?
