As Candice has provided in both the YT helicopter search and YT Interview by another creator posted up thread, she states that tips or information provided to herself and/or the extended family have all proven noncredible information and a waste of resources-- including the alleged hostage situation reported above.

Almost sounds like the family is being mislead by the network of squatters mentioned in the video. Landowners all over the US are having a heck of a time with squatters. All JMO.

Thanks, @MassGuy. So now, according to official LE release, Dylan was in Montello on 5/26, not 5/27. He apparently did talk to his grandmother from his farm on the morning of 5/28.
Folks need to be aware that there is a one hour time difference between Montello and Lucin when looking at call times.

Select confirmations of interest by Candice:

1)Cell phone reception (Verizon) at Dylan's ranch is surprisingly relatively good, and no problem making/receiving calls.

2) Dylan did not drop out of school and move to Lucin to farm full time since age 16 as currently being speculated on the thread! Candice confirms Dylan partnered with his grandpa to farm in Lucin and has been farming every summer vacation in Utah since he was 16 years old.

3) Dylan was also doing custom work on a couple of other farms nearby. Justin, his dad, also farms, and Dylan's been on a farm his entire life.

4) Dylan is a regular at Saddle Sore Bar in Montello, NV where he was seen on Friday, 5/27/22. They sell hot food and their kitchen is open late. The selection of eateries around his place are not plentiful. Dylan does not drink. (IMO, LDS family).

5) Saturday, 5/28 at 3:40 pm was the last phone ping from Dylan's phone. Although they know the tower, they have not received the GPS coordinates to identify the actual location where his phone was located.

6) Missing from the farm: Ford Key Fob to the red truck, .40 pistol, cell phone, wallet, and Dylan.

I'm watching the videos Seattle1 posted. I just want to point out that innocent family members do speak in the past tense, sometimes. Usually that's one of the first things we focus on with suspicious parents. I do not believe Dylan's mom is guilty of anything, of course, but the past tense popped up a few times.

We learned a lot more information from mom, she's holding up amazingly well. At least, in the public eye. Hoping they get answers quickly!

Based on what she said in the youtube video. They have searched Utah locations with no results. She feels he could be in Nevada.

So did someone call the police and tell them Dylan was being held hostage?

Or was it just a hoax, but not about Dylan at all?

I am trying to understand why it was even a thing that happened? Was someone trying to mess with the investigation?

His videos are very polished. He has talent in that regards and 2 million subscribers. He is a bit of a well known character in Utah. Seems like a cool dude. imo. Iirc, he recovered Ron and Beverly's RV and car when they were stranded in Nevada.

I think I might be able to help clear up some confusion about the screenshot I snipped from the helicopter search video, and OP's questions about the RVs and camping trailers seen in the background of the screenshot.

To be clear, the screenshot is NOT the area where DR resides in his camper trailer. The screenshot was taken specifically to depict where DR's boots were recovered, his shop building, and where DR moved his grain truck for shelter from the rain and to keep his seeds dry.

According to DR's mother, Candice, the distance from DR's camper trailer, to the shop, grain truck, and place where his boots were recovered (as seen in the screenshot) is about 5 miles.

As for what OP describes as an RV, self-contained motorhome, white and brown campers, etc., these additional pieces in the screenshot belong to DR's family and friends that have traveled from Idaho and beyond, to help search for DR.

I hope this helps clear up some of the confusion.

Using the Box Elder parcel map, I tried to locate the area of Dylan’s trailer and the place where the shop building, the grain truck, and Dylan’s boots were found.
The trailer area matches the parcel map and the other area seems to match what we saw on the video as being the shop area. According to Google maps it is a little over 6 miles to the west of the trailer. It’s possible it may be a shorter distance if there is an unmarked dirt road that you could take between the two.
