Wah has five children and Hser is his only daughter. He recalled how Monday morning she stood behind him as he brushed his teeth. He told her he would bring her candy after work.
Wah said he has not eaten anything since he learned of her disappearance yesterday.

He said he saw Hser leave the apartment Monday afternoon and walk south. She didn't respond when he asked where she was going.
Wearing a blue Brigham Young University jacket, he thanked all of the volunteers searching for his daughter.

I bet she's the "apple of his eye", being his only daughter. I'm not at all blaming him as I know he's doing many "what ifs" right now, but we can't just let our little ones this much freedom. How I wish (and I'm sure he does too) that he had gone after her when she ignored him.

I'm sorry I read this and I agree with you, hits me in the bullseye

Has there been any posters on this thread that don't have some affiliation with Utah?

me, had to leave earlier, just got back & sick to learn they haven't found her. I'm not giving up hope yet! Just recently in the news Shannon Matthews from the UK was missing for 24 days, she was found alive, she was taken by her stepfathers uncle. So lets pray this little girl is found soon.

I do understand what you are saying. I don't disagree with you at all.

I only mentioned that it reminded me of the Destiny Norton case because Destiny was also kidnapped in the Salt Lake City, Utah area and her next door neighbor murdered her and hid her in his basement for days after Destiny went missing.

I also think of Danielle Van Dam who was kidnapped from her house by their next door neighbor. I suspect little Danielle was kept alive for sometime before she was murdered.

Yes, I was thinking of her as well. I remember how desperately I wanted to believe she would be found but sure she was targeted. I have to say that guy is in my top 5 worst. I really believe that the key to protect your self and your family is to really trust your inuition, develop it and listen to it. I have yet to see a case like this where in the "armchair quarterback" section there was not a gazillion signs about the character of the purp.
I have a psychologist friend that always put the "but" at the end of that statement for me- she says "but, sometimes you just can't protect yourself from a person that is evil," you just do the best you can to keep the odds in your favor.

Is the presser going on? Can someone post info?
Thanks.

NM, that's 4PM mountain time, not 4 PM my time. Sorry. I'm just anxious.
The fact they called a presser is scaring the hell out of me. It seems like most Pressers are called when strong evidence is found.

Thanks tempus,
I wasn't aware that Shannon was found. Thank God for that miracle. It gets hard to keep track of every case every day, when you try to follow them all.

I'm with you. I have felt since they converted to the anmber alert that they were working on at least one potential suspect. The chief said it was not for any "reason" except that 24 hours had passed, but I have learned recently that the 24 hours we have become accustomed to thinking needs to pass prior to iniating LE missing persons report, it is not the case.
ETA:The alert is set to expire at 4:30PM today- I have not heard of that, I'm concerned they have found her

I noticed that too and thought that was odd. I thought maybe it is a default expiration or something but that doesn't really make sense. You would think if there is a default exp. it would be like 24 hours or something.

Does anyone know why the alert would expire at 4:30 PM?

Is it a press release or press conference, the chief specifically said earlier they would not do another live one but that they would give the press contacts within his office- not to be too speculative.

Sorry SH, missed this, I am from NJ, no affiliation with Utah

Wow, I don't know. If it is just a press release, I probably have my nerves jumbled up for no reason. A press conference tends to be bad news.

Also, I realized that the shoe description is also off. Some reports say black and pink sneakers and some say pink crocs.

The Amber Alert states:
Pink Dress
Possibly a Black Burmese coat
and Pink Croc shoes.

Glad to have ya. :)
It just seemed like most of the people posting here live in Utah or have lived in Utah. I was just curious if anyone was posting from other states.

I wonder if this has been misreported? I have seen articles that said the father and mother weren't at home (I think they had been at the hospital) when Moo left the apartment. When the parents arrived home Moo was still not home.

Hser Ner Moo was last seen about 2 p.m. Monday at her apartment near 2250 S. 500 East. She was drawing with her 10-year-old brother and the two got into an argument, said South Salt Lake police detective Gary Keller. A baby sitter was also in the apartment at the time. Moo was upset and left the apartment and began walking down the street. When the children's parents got home, however, she still had not returned. By 6:30 p.m., concerned neighbors called police.

I had wondered about that also. There is another story, I think one of the links I posted, that says the older brothers came home about 4:30 and started looking for her.

I think some of the mis-reporting might be due to the language barrier in this case. But it sure isn't helping anything.

I do agree that the mis-reporting is due to the language barrier. I wonder if they have found a interpreter yet?
NM..I learned they did have one.

I think KR and you are correct, lots of language barrier issues here, sadly.
As we are currently going through this issue, you'd be surprised to see the stuff they report without confirmations.
ETA: I cant find anything on a coat being found in the park- anyone?

I haven't seen a link about a pink coat being found at Liberty Park but I did see someone on TV during the press release that was carrying a pink coat over to a police car.

What happened to that press conference at 4:00 pm or is that what you are talking about RKnowley?

  • #138
Yes, they did a press conference at a little after 4PM. There wasn't really any new information to be gathered from the conference.

They said that the next conference is scheduled for 10AM tomorrow morning.

No news will be good news for me right now.. Alot of times when they have a suspect they try and work it out before they lawyer up- any sense they have a direction or did it look like they were just keeping it fresh?
Anything on the coat or did I invent that somehow?
