"It still doesn't seem real," said next-door neighbor Marty Vuksinick, 18, as he glanced around the quiet cul-de-sac. "Nothing (like this) has ever happened in this neighborhood."

Vuksinick said one of the nearby neighbors had been out working in his yard Monday when he discovered a set of keys, which sent police scurrying back to the home for more investigation. Later in the day, neighbors reported seeing officials carrying the Hains' bed out of the home.

"She never had an enemy in the world," he said. "Why her? It's so shocking."

Vuksinick said his mother, Cheryl, was Hain's best friend and the first person to talk with husband Pat Hain after he came out of the house with the kids.

Suzi I think it was just what we saw on KUTV. I have been flipping channels like crazy and I haven't seen anything else.

Maybe the boy was jealous of his mom's close friendship with Kimberly. If he was angry with his mom, and Kim was important to her (maybe he thought; "more important than me?") he could have killed Kim for the purpose of hurting Mom. Like when abusers hurt or kill pets or their spouse's child.

I wonder if his mom had a clue? How could you raise a kid capable of this level of violence and not realize he was so messed up? Gotta be some drugs involved, IMO.

KUTV -- An 18-year-old neighbor of Kimberly Hain has been arrested for her murder.

Police say Martin Vuksinick is in custody. He lived with his parent's next door to Kim Hain.

Police say the teen brought police to where the murder weapon, a baseball bat, was disposed.

According to police Kim Hain was found dead in her West Valley Home at 6616 West Fanfare Court, Friday morning by her two children.

Officers questioned Pat Hain, Kim's husband, he was never called a suspect.

When Pat Hain, a nurse who works the night shift at a local hospital, returned home Friday morning he attempted to revive his wife.

As for Kim Hain,her in-laws' remember her as a nature lover who was liked by everyone."There was never any reason, she was just a sweet woman that every body loved," said Hain's father-in-law, "there's no rhyme or reason whatsoever."

Marty Vuksinick said his mom took the two Hain kids into their house, and they kept saying, "mom's been shot by a bad guy," Marty Vuksinick said.

However, when Cheryl Vuksinick recently went to visit them, they apparently said their "mom is a beautiful angel now," Marty Vuksinick said.

Could be, but I don't think he just stopped by for a visit after the kiddos were in bed, happened across the bat, and couldn't resist the urge to swing it at mom's best friend...all without waking the sleeping children or incurring the rath of the family dog. Takes some forethought to kill silently, IMO.

I hate to say something negative about a dead person, but is it not visible to anyone but me that Kimberly had a relationship with this boy? He bashed her face in...that means passion. It also means there was something that had occurred between them. Maybe he thought they were lovers, or maybe they actually were.

But here is what the press has been told so far.....she died in bed.

How did he get her in bed, and the only signs of death were in the bedroom?

Somehow this 18 year old kid gained access to the house, and gained access to her bedroom.

Yeah I was thinking maybe he broke in to steal something, and maybe she woke and he grabbed a bat and killed her.

After finding all his comments to media before the arrest I think I'm leaning more towards premed. He most likely brought the bat. She probably threatened to tell on him or already did.

Here is a comment from KSL.com. They are talking about two posters that argued to great length that Kimberly fell and hit her head. ETA: I've been watching them for days...their posts were over the top to the point people thought it was the husband posting.

P.S. The comments made by Kelly Clark-son & Shurtleff for unemployed (obviously the same person) have been really creepy over the course of this case. This person's desperate reasoning and staunch defense of the idea that this was somehow an accident had lead me to wonder if we were hearing from the murderer himself. So now that they've gotten the guy (Martin Vuksinick), we'll soon know whether or not Kelly Clark-son/Shurtleff for unemployed was the very same. Kelly! Shurtleff! Are you out there? If so, I do hope you'll grace us with a comment so that we know you aren't Martin Vuksinick.
