I had to miss the last little bit of Karrington's cross examination by defense, will prosecution be doing a redirect with her today? I honestly don't think there is much they need to cleanup, the witness was excellent and gave the defense nothing with which to work.

Karrington held up quite well during the cross and redirect and was released from her subpoena.

But didn't Eric say No to the big mansion purchase at the end?

Was that when she went ahead and bought it anyway not knowing that that would ultimately be why she would "need" to kill Eric for his money??? Or was the purchase AFTER she (allegedly) killed him?
Yes. I meant everything until then. Like why don’t we have any testimony from anyone that he was worried about her business from the start.

I never thought about her maybe getting her lover to kill her husband but that makes sense.

In the past, others have done it by making up stories of abuse and trying to illicit sympathy so that he wants to avenge and "fix this' abusing situation. However, I think Kouri would have had to have more evidence that she was physically abuse but making bruises on herself would have alerted Eric as to something going on.

The question I have is IF Kouri was not in so much debt, let's say under $1M, would she still have concocted a murder plan like this?

KR lacks a lot of personal insight, to put it mildly.

That she thought she could flip big houses, I don't she mapped it out az a business model.

She just kept acquiring properties in the hopes of selling them in order to pay off previous high risk loans.

She was reaching a flash point. The outlay of can just to service interest was insane and it was fast becoming exponential.

Look how quickly she blew the insurance pay outs --

And the midway mansion -- with all those foundational and environmental issues? No way could she have pulled off a quick flip, a cosmetic fix.

I wonder what her debt load was when she first decided she'd need to murder ER as a source of fresh, alternative financing. A million dollars at that time might have made a difference, but IMO in banking on that money, she made additional stupid business decisions.

Those $10,000 checks to herself? I could be wrong but she may have been trying to beat the system, deposit at midnight, draw money out of the next account, before one or three other was cleared.

Bottom line here, I think KR was drunk on power. Powerful to lie to investors, powerful getting money out of them with her  clever stupid lies, powerful to manipulate CL, powerful to gaslit ER in whatever way she could.

She's nothing but a grifter. Had she not been arrested, she would have carried on, looking for new sources of capital, lives be damned.

Yes! Just not successfully.

Didn't stop her from trying again and again.

Fool.

9:27 a.m. Public seats are full in the courtroom. Judge Richard Mrazik is on the bench. Kouri Richins is at the defense table with Kathryn Nester, Wendy Lewis and Alex Ramos, her attorney. Brad Bloodworth and Lindsay Chervenak are at the prosecution table.

9:15 a.m. It’s day 8 of the Kouri Richins trial. Eric Richins died four years ago today. He died in the early morning hours of March 4, 2022.

From his obituary:

– He lived to the fullest and with few regrets
– He loved his family, hunting, the family cattle ranch, and his insane drive as a successful entrepreneur
– He spent countless hours helping his dad work the ranch, hauling hay, feeding the animals, and mending fences
– He was an attentive and loving father to his three sons
– He loved all sports
– Eric was an avid outdoorsman and dedicated hunter
– There was never a dull moment when you were around Eric
– Eric loved to have fun and was always the life of the party
– He served a two-year mission in Mexico City where he learned to speak Spanish fluently.
– Eric loved fully, laughed loudly, and lived life with reckless abandon.

KR had it all.

And destroyed it.

Midas touch she does not have.

I'm in the courtroom behind Jeff O'Driscoll; who works on behalf of the prosecution.

We're starting court about an hour late today.

Kouri and her attorney's Kathy Nester and Wendy Lewis are smiling and keeping things 'light' before another day in the courtroom.

And she also manipulated the media by writing that book about grieving and appearing on TV to talk about the book... I had almost forgotten about that!

It takes a special kind of narcist to write something like that.

I just went back and reviewed the walk the dog letter to refresh my memory about how damning it is to her case. Here are some portions.

Skye [her previous attorney] is saying even if the gummies have fetanyl [sic] in them the prosecutor will say I tried to put the fetanyl [sic] in the gummies so Eric would have them. Stupid I know but that’s what she’s thinking. We will still test them though. However, she wants to link Eric getting drugs and pills from Mexico so we need some kind of connection. Her private investigator is doing some research on the ranch/cartel place Eric would stay at. Here is what I’m thinking but you have to talk to Ronney [KR’s brother]. He would probably have to testify to this, but it’s super short not a lot to it.

A year prior to Eric’s death, Ronney was over watching football one Sunday and Eric and Ronney were chatting about Eric’s Mexico trips. Eric told Ronney he gets pain pills and Fetanyl [sic] from Mexico from the workers at the ranch. Not to tell me because I would get mad because I always said he just gets high every night and won’t help take care of the kids (there are pictures in my phone of Eric passed out on the floor or in the chair. Ronney should have texts from Eric talking about getting high as well). Eric told Ronney he keeps them in an allergy pill bottle in his work truck so I wouldn’t find them. Ronney never told me about the conversation. Eric finally told me and asked if Carmen could get him some. Eric never wanted anyone to know he had an issue ecspecially [sic] get caught, he always wanted Kouri to go down for him.

She [KR] was pissed he would risk her going to jail for his drug use. He just would laugh about it. Eric couldn’t ruin his image that he had drug issues so he would do whatever he had to. Kouri has never done any type of pills, didn’t like them. Rarely would she consume THC only if Eric begged her because it was a special occasion. * Reword this however he needs to, to make the point. Just include it all * The connection has to be made with Mexico and drugs. Ronney will have the messages to prove Eric confided in him about getting high. It can be short and to the point but has to be done.

Upon information and belief LOL. They never found pain pills or Fetanyl [sic] in my house because he hid it in allergy bottle in work truck. And Cody emptied out work truck within a week. So they were never found.

When you talk to Ronney about this, meet up with him in person. I worry sometimes your house and phone are bugged.
Maybe drive down to SL and meet him after work without Bri. Skye has to make the connection between Eric and Mexico because that makes the most sense in her mind. If it’s Ronney’s information and belief about the conversation over football she can use that as a connection. Tell Ronney don’t over analyze it. It was a quick 2 min. conversation LOL. Tell him I need him to do this. Bring me home and then we will get those damn 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬!

Skye is having my girls do the first interview with Good Morning America. Please tell Chelsea to bring up that he hasn’t been to church in the 13 years she has known him. And Eric would brag to her about how much he drank and did pills in high school. Tell Kelsey to say “Eric always wanted Kouri to go down for him.” For example he would put drugs in her suitcase when we would travel together so if anyone got caught it was Kouri. He would put it in her bag right before they left the house so Kouri didn’t know. Then when we would land wherever, Eric would take them out of her bag and Kouri would be pissed and they would argue about it. Tell Kelsey to say how Eric didn’t care and would just laugh about it and say, “Well I can’t get in trouble.” Have Selma talk about Eric in Spain not being able to drink so he was looking for drugs the entire time. And explain the drink the waitress gave him. And how I called his doctor and went to the pharmacy immediately. Have Ali talk about how the sisters have always been jealous of me because anything they could do, Kouri could do better. Being a mom, college, stay at home wife until she built a million dollar company. A nice house, car, everything she had, they wanted. This comes down to jealousy, money, and Eric’s partying that they don’t want to acknowledge and sadly an accidental overdose.

How the hell KR plans to believably explain this as a fictional novel is beyond me.
Just wanted to say a big thank you for posting this! I just started following this case last week and kept hearing references to the walk the dog letter. I surmised it contained some pretty damning evidence against her, but it's so much more than I imagined! Did she not realize all jail communication is monitored? Very much appreciate you!

Rodgers is looking at life insurance policies and acknowledges a change on Cody Wright's (Eric Richins' business partner) with the beneficiary changing from Eric Richins to Kouri Richins and back to Eric Richins over the course of a few days in early January 2022.
