Whoah what a guy has been running around loose for months. I think he fits pretty damn well to*** my own amateur profile*** of the murderer. MOO.
Just could not imagine the amount of pathological sickness and crazy involved. I'm not easily shaken but that guy gave even me chills.

I really hope they are on this quickly with samples etc. so that it is stated that is it him or not. Like how many more messed up dudes can there be running at the utah campgrounds right now. Please be careful you all! Not scared but aware.

These women need justice, the family and friends need closure. I hope so bad they get it soon.

I know right? I've been a bit hyper focused on him too, he seems the perfect suspect for this. I hope there is an answer/statement one way or another with this guy. If he's officially ruled out or not I hope we find out and the women's friends/families so they know for sure.

There are a couple of interesting posts on the "

Sean-Paul, Kylen's dad posted that the "creepy guy" had left in his car and returned with more food and clothing making the girls feel that they did need to move camp since he did not seem to be leaving soon.

The key comment in this statement is that the guy had a car. John Colt was riding a motorcycle from what we know. Is it possible that Colt had obtained a car from someone? Sure.

There were two pictures posted by Cindy Sue Hunter, the woman that went out looking for Kylen and Crystal. The pictures were take after she had found Kylen and left the camp to wait for the police back up on La Sal Loop Road.

There also were GPS coordinates that were posted that confirmed the exact location of the camp which was previously described by Sean-Paul. Sean-Paul said he visited the site yesterday and realized it was not near Whispering Oaks Ranch and he felt it was less likely that anyone from the wedding had seen or heard anything that night.

He still was appealing for people to submit their pictures and dashcam video if they were in the area August 12-16.

I wonder if the food was purchased and he was carrying it in bags, along with the clothes, or if it seemed like he lived somewhat nearby and brought more food and clothes from home? I'm curious what time they saw him do this.

I ask because there's one main grocery store in Moab, the City Market, and I would bet it has cameras in it. I've been in it but wasn't looking for cameras. If they were able to get an approximate time and date, maybe they could check parking lot and/or indoor cams to check out the people entering and leaving around that time. I know it's a bit needle-in-the-haystack but it would be somewhere to start. MOO

It was major the comment about the car! One thing I read from JFC, was that he bought the motorcycle sight unseen for $800. I'm curious when/where he bought the motorcycle. He only started posted on FB in September I believe.

ITA with your train of thought. Where did he go to retrieve the food/clothes? A friends house, a store, storage locker, another vehicle? I'm going to pose my questions in the FB group as well as I'm so curious if any more info.

Searching the grocery store video might be helpful. There certainly are not many stores in the area and he likely was not buying a bunch of stuff that needed refrigeration.

I will say that criminals don't always purchase the items that they need. The killer also could have burglarized a home or stole items from other campers to refile his supplies. He also could have shoplifted items.

I know when we went camping we left all our food in the bear box and anyone could have come by and taken stuff when we were out hiking during the day. Many camp grounds are quite empty after about 10:00 AM because people head out to do what ever they planned for the day.

There was a photo early on that I can't find now that showed a camper and maybe a rabbit hutch. Can anyone provide that and see if this camper could be theirs. Imagery is from 2019 though.

As for why, I lean more towards the creeper was a predator or maybe they were paid in cash and were hanging onto a large amount of on hand cash.... maybe even saving up for a home somewhere. Who all would have that info? Regulars in the restaurant or friends? I don't lean towards hate crime. I resist that as a go-to answer in a time where we're conditioned to be triggered towards any smidgen of potential hate. Anyway it's sad this thread isn't getting enough attention. Hope it is solved soon.

usually i am healthily skeptical also. particularly when there are living survivors claiming themselves to be victims of hate crime in the press. *cough* jussie *cough*. this one just screams hate crime at me though. but could be wrong of course.

I don't feel this was robbery personally, why the extra mile for the savagery? Out there one could probably rob and leave without the excessive violence.

Hate crime, possibly. It was overkill and savage, seems personal or rage to me. What bothers me is the wounds were everywhere but the where would logically be quick and lethal (head) - they were back/chest (lethal I suppose) and sides. Which makes me think this person made this a painful, slow and awful death.

I also thought the women were put in creek post mortem because the way Kylen was described when found (limbs in awkward position) but maybe they were put in creek blindfolded or something and shot there so all wounds in top of their body. Ugh so messed up

If they were saving for a home, then it’s highly unlikely they were holding a lot of cash. You typically want thorough documentation of where the down payment came from.

I think “creepy guy” is a red herring. I see all over Reddit & FB & here everyone trying to fit the killer (JC & BL) into “creepy guy” when there is a chance he wasn’t even involved.

Again I’ll link this comment and article where someone was questioned & released, if that’s not “creepy guy” then who else would that be?

The father reported that a person of interest had been questioned and released by police, but his daughter's killer was still out there.

Maybe I’m taking it too literally, but LE’s statement seemed to dismiss the possibility that there is a danger to the local community, not the community-at-large.

“At this time the Grand County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an ongoing homicide investigation” adding “The Grand County Sheriff’s Office believes there is no current danger to the public in the Grand County area”

I have re-read that statement multiple times and as a professional writer and editor, I am comfortable saying it doesn't make a damn bit of sense. It is illogical given the circumstances--unless, of course, they have some psycho killer secretly locked up... in another dimension. I am going to read between the lines: the Grand County Sheriff's Department wants the public to believe they are holding their together a hell of a lot better than they really are. Don't panic. They aren't panicking... or are they? (It sounds like they are.)

Thanks for confirming this and the report link. The SA victim he went to jail for survived, it's common when sex offenders have been to jail then are released and re-offend to start to killing victims to leave no witness (avoid going back to jail). Maybe he escalated to murder with C&K because of this

In the report it mentions his escalations towards women and talks of a SA spree if ever released! And with help from a hospital employee to escape? Absolutely, terrifying.

His FB page is eerie as well. I hope LE updates whether he's connected to K&C at all going forward.

The women said he camped close to them when they told friends a creepy guy was hanging around. Would like to know if he was missing from Torrey from around the 13th, and a day or so after. Also, we haven't heard where GP and BL were from 13 Aug. to 17 Aug when he flew back to FL. I hope LE was able to get a DNA sample.

The warrant says Colt/Holt began working at the Chuckwagon in Torrey around Aug. 12, 2021.
