This is odd. The truck was in a working condition according to the article. It's been 2 weeks already, this is not looking good.

Well this is sad. Active search already called off. No one looking. What are the chances of him ever being found?

Sure would be nice if some local trackers would get involved.

Did he write the note about the truck not working? Someone in his family should be able to answer that question. So where did he go?

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SHERIFF ASKS PUBLIC TO REPORT ANY CONTACT WITH MISSING CAMPER

Daggett County Sheriff Erik Bailey is asking the public to report any contact with a missing camper who was last seen in the Brown’s Park area earlier this month.

Late on the evening of April 4, the sheriff’s office received a report that no one had had contact with Leonard Corby “Corb” Fisher since March 31 or April 1, when he was last seen camping in the Brown’s Park area. Fisher is 44 years old.

A sheriff’s deputy and two state Division of Wildlife Resources conservation officers responded to the area on the morning of April 5. They found an abandoned truck that had been loaned to Fisher. They also found his campsite with miscellaneous personal property, including firearms.

A note was found as well, stating that the truck would not start. The truck, however, was found to be in working condition.

Authorities searched the area for several hours with the help of a Classic Air Medical helicopter crew. The search yielded no results.

Due to current issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic and the county’s limited resources, the active search for Fisher was called off.

Anyone who has had contact with Fisher after March 31 or April 1, or anyone who knows his whereabouts should contact the Daggett County Sheriff’s Office at 435-784-3255 or Central Dispatch at 435-789-4222."

His FB page, where it appears he has 2 children:
(Snip for focus)
An article about Corby Fisher, written in 2009, when he worked at Dodge Ridge Ski Resort:

https://www.modbee.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/ron-agostini/article3117878.html
Such accomplishments-WOW-training Olympic skiers etc. Quoted from link:
For him, it was perfectly natural to ride bulls, jump out of planes and race down the mountain as fast as possible.

"Fear is kind of an illusion," he says.
....

Still, the couple has deferred virtually all world-wide pursuits in favor of their children. Corby reluctantly has walked away from bull riding and skydiving.

"That was part of the deal," Emily said.

Retorts Corby, "My last skydive was 20 months ago. I'm trying to grow out of it."

If indeed the truck he's borrowed wouldn't start and he went to walk out for assistance, I don't see him leaving the firearms behind. I am armed when I camp and always carry when I leave the camp in case of an encounter with a predator (two or four-legged).

A small group of us showed up to camp on April 6th the day after the Sheriff's department confiscated all his property. We actually did a search of our own but found few foot tracks which surprised us. There are many cliffs and crags. The area is desolate with no cell service and the Green River is right next to the campground. It is my gut feeling that he fell in the river. Of course I hope that's not the case but the area is so vast that I think him being alive is highly unlikely. Tragic situation. His elderly father was coming to look for him every day and we left him a bag of supplies in case he did, somehow return. Prayers for his family.

Doesn't sound like he would walk away from his family. Prayers in Jesus' name.

I'm glad he was found, but I wish he had been found alive. How tragic for his children, to lose their father so early in life. RIP Corb, and prayers for your family and friends.
