So. Let’s say she didn’t go to the park at 3am but just took the Lyft to his house. How would that have changed things?

  • #22
Yes, but the poster I was attempting to reply to was asking what happened to the missing time because it should have only taken 11 min to get to the park, and I was responding to her post.
Gotcha.

(Hard to keep up with every post.)

Interesting thought on jury selection for this case, unless he pleads out.

The Hi-Fi killers, black men who tortured and killed people in Ogden, UT, were sentenced to death by a jury in Utah. The case went to the Supreme court, based on racial bias from the jury. No luck. It wasn't an issue of "racism" that earned them the death penalty, it was their own heinous crimes against others.

Hi-Fi murders - Wikipedia

So, racial bias probably won't work here.

But doesn't LE have the exact times of the Lyft ride? So it's not guesswork.

Gotcha (as I already responded).

Link regarding AA’s family statement:
Family of suspect in MacKenzie Lueck case worried about possibility of fair trial in SLC

Speaking from her office in New York, attorney Janet Fashakin said the presumption of innocence is a civil right in the United States and she questioned if Ayoola Ajayi will be entitled to that right if the trial takes place in Salt Lake City.

“AJ is being crucified already,” she said.

Fashakin said she got a call from Nigeria, where Ajayi's mother has been reading news reports in disbelief.

Man accused of killing Mackenzie Lueck was banned from Utah State University in 2012 after arrested | Daily Mail Online
[...]

It has now been revealed that Utah State University banned him after his student visa expired and he was arrested on suspicion of having a stolen an iPad, a misdemeanor, according to university police reports.

The Los Angeles Times reported that police said he used the Apple device to play video games and look for a wife to avoid being deported although he was already married.

Campus police received a report the tablet was missing and it was tracked via an IP address. Law enforcement stated he lied when he said his mother gave it to him as a gift but he didn't know how to use it. They noted he had wiped the school's device and replaced the contents of it with his personal applications.

[...]

Prior to the iPad incident, cops caught him sleeping on a couch outside dorms where he claimed to be meeting a girlfriend but when they spoke to a female student inside she said Ajayi didn't have a partner living there.

An officer reported that he tried to exit a later conversation by claiming he had an exam in the morning.

The report stated: 'I asked if he had an exam for one of his classes. Ayoola paused for a moment and stated he was taking a blood test in the morning. ... I told Ayoola that I felt he was being deceitful with me, at which time he hung up on me.'

[...]

U.S. Immigration and Citizenship Services declined to provide information about when Ajayi obtained his citizenship, citing privacy protections. Ajayi was allowed to enroll in classes again in 2015 after resolving his immigration status, said Utah State spokesman Tim Vitale.

This is not any different from the extensive media coverage of another recent murderer in Utah, Alexander Whipple, who is white.

The issue of focusing on race is offensive to me. AJ is a suspect, with plenty of evidence of culpability in a heinous crime. That should be the focus here.

Evidence.

OT:

Before our crowd arrives, I just wanted to take a minute to wish all posters on KLs forum a very Happy Fourth of July!

Always remember it is only the ONE percent of our great citizens that makes all 100 percent of us live in the land of freedom!!

Also, even though imperfect our criminal justice system is the best in the world!

KL will get deserved justice, and AA will be punished harshly for what he has done. IMO

So I hope you all enjoy this very special day. Each one who has fallen on battlefields, and all who have served have done so ..so each one of us would be able to celebrate this day no matter what we do.

The biggest honor anyone can give these brave men, and women is to enjoy our day of freedom celebration!

God bless KLs devastated family as they go forward seeking justice.

Hugs to you all!

Enjoy, but please be safe!

Opinion - Nearly everything in AA's life seems to be a lie or scam in some form or fashion................moo

- Media initially runs all articles which pretty much victim shame this woman and make her out to be a prostitute
- Lawyer of animal comes out and turns issue into a race issue and basically accuses the state he lived in/hunted for years to be racist

Sounds about right... normal way of things in this modern age where everything is racist and media driven and the facts get left behind.

Interesting references - so far she has used Daniel in the lion den and now "crucified." Perhaps that comes naturally to her - or is she appealing to a potential religious jury with the emphasis on not condemning an innocent man?

Agreed. I ran out of adjectives (to describe people like AA) with CW and PF. Not even going to try here. MOO

So. Let’s say she didn’t go to the park at 3am but just took the Lyft to his house. How would that have changed things?
LE would have found him much quicker.

Given the delay in charges, LE and the state are being meticulous in putting this case together. His attorney can't free the case from the facts, no matter how shrill any racial bias narrative. It will only create a greater contrast between AA and ML, and not because of their skin color, but because he is a sadistic predator who killed his victim in an utterly heinous manner, and his lawyer wants to cast him as the victim.

So, I was in the middle of trying to reply to the poster who said it only took 11 min to get to Hatch Park. I looked at the same thing the other day. If you search Google Maps, you get 11 min if you search for directions for Hatch Park to the Airport ONLY in that direction. If you search the inverse - directions from the airport to Hatch Park the times are actually longer. According to Google Maps it takes 17-20 minutes to go from the airport to Hatch Park.

I asked that question... I said "it only takes 11 minutes" and not that " it only took 11 minutes"... I don't know how long it took ML's ride. The reason i wondered what happened in between was because someone posted an article that said ML texted her mother at 1 am and that ML was seen leaving the airport at 2 am. I guess the media can say whatever they want...
I'm sorry but i don't know how to insert a screenshot.

Random thoughts...
  • “AJ is being crucified already,” she said.
  • No. Mackenzie Lueck was crucified.
  • “There is no way you can watch all this that`s being said about your loving son and you be able to be at peace,” said Fashakin.
  • Mrs. Ajayi's son has made her a victim, not the media.
  • The family is afraid judgments are being made based on a limited amount of evidence revealed by police.
  • You betcha judgments are being made but they are not based on a limited amount of evidence. Read up, lady...
  • “There is no way AJ can get a fair trial in Utah considering the racial disparity over there,” said Fashakin.
  • Perhaps someone should convince him to man up and plead guilty?
