Yes, but the poster I was trying to respond to was asking what happened to the missing time since it should have only taken 11 min to get to the park, so I was responding to that post.

So. Let’s say she didn’t go to the park at 3am but just took the Lyft to his house. How would that have changed things?

LE would have questioned him as soon as she was reported missing and they found the Lyft records—so, Thursday or Friday at the latest. He would have told them sort of a lame lie about what happened when she left. They probably would have gotten the search warrant several days earlier, and moved the entire timeline of the investigation up.

No, it isn't possible. With security cams at the airport, LE would have been on that. They have the right person.

It was have been seen on camera, since LE knows her movements via airport cameras and also her phone. There would have been a phone log trail of another person contacting her and that isn't the case, based on LE release of the cell info.

I asked that question... I said "it only takes 11 minutes" and not that " it only took 11 minutes"... I don't know how long it took ML's ride. The reason i wondered what happened in between was because someone posted an article that said ML texted her mother at 1 am and that ML was seen leaving the airport at 2 am. I guess the media can say whatever they want...

I realize that mistaken times were out there in the media, but they’re off by an hour—the result of using Pacific Time to report when her mother, (on Pacific Time,) received her text.

All reports from the Lyft driver said she did not appear to be under any duress. There aren't reports of persistent phone calls or following etc.

And the reason it takes longer to go from the airport to Hyde Park rather than vice versa is that there is road construction on the airport off ramp heading towards the city. So you have to head west and then reenter the interstate going east. I live in SLC, actually about 1 KM from AA's house, so am familiar with the logistics and neighborhoods.

When it was reported that she was dropped at that park, I guessed the perp was living in Rose Park, North Salt Lake, or Bountiful, as they are all nearby. It's just too random of a location. It's not a park I've ever heard of. Turns out AA lived across the street a couple of years before and in Rose Park currently. Makes some sense.

I'm not saying they don't have the right person... Even with security cameras anyone could have followed her without being noticed. Anyways it was just a thought based on a timeline that apparently is not correct.

I think the text messages between the perp and the victim show that he was definitely the one she was planning to meet. Apparently they were texting until the time she made contact with him and then her phone was abruptly turned of within one minute of her getting into the car. Imo

How would that person get to his car and follow her? He’d have to rush to his car, and therefore wouldn’t even see that she took a Lyft, and in what direction. I think you’d have to postulate that he hid a tracking device in her purse.

They got her phone records. Anyone ‘who wouldn’t stop calling her,’ would show up in the records and LE, again, would have tracked him down.

So, what happens after he follows ML and AA? He kills ML, leaves AA unscathed, and after he walks away, AA just settles down to burn her body? Actually, has that ever been the defense of anyone—that someone else broke into their home, murdered someone in front of the homeowner, and that the homeowner disposed of the body? It’s several orders of magnitude more improbable than the old ‘it was an accident’ story.

I don't know for sure, but I'm thinking she is like a liason for his family - someone who knows both their language and also the U.S. legal system. I don't think she is actually HIS lawyer, as he already has one in SLC.

Again, i got an incorrect timeline that made me wonder what happened from 2am to 3 am... outside the airport and away from security cameras. I'm sorry again.

No, it is not plausible. Anytime mental gymnastics are involved in a theory, it is most likely not what happened. It sound like a movie plot and not real life. Besides, do we really need to give defense attorneys ideas to work with?
