I'm not sure he is even involved with the NYC lawyer. I'm getting the vibe that she stepped in to help the family figure out what is happening to their son in a system unfamiliar them, not necessarily to help him. Maybe I'm totally off base.

I thought AA's mother contacted her.

If she was planning on calling a Lyft, or he was going to take her home (she would have to have been really comfortable with him for the latter), then whatever they were meeting for was happening at the park, in her mind. I guess I don't see how a dark isolated park is somehow safer than his house.

Okay, here we go. Starting at about the 12-minute mark:

Reporter: Can you say, did the Lyft driver watch her get into the car, or make contact with the person or did she just say, "Oh, that's my ride."
AC Doubt: They did make contact.
Reporter: With the person in the car?
AC Doubt: Yes.
Reporter: And then they see him get in the car and drive off?
AC Doubt: I'm not sure if they actually got in the car or not.

AC Doubt: I'm not sure if they actually got in the car or not.

Okay, thank you! So, we don’t know what the Lyft driver saw or didn’t see—and I suspect that the police were holding back on info. For one thing, they didn’t want to paint a target on the Lyft driver’s back, and for another, they had a strong, (and correct), hunch that the warrants for her phone and chat apps would tell the whole story.

All this my opinion only.

About Me

I'm an ambitious young aspiring model looking to work with professionals. I used every second of my life to archive my goals which is to be the best.
I am taking an acting classes while working with star talent management here in Utah. I will love to work with any organization that will be interested in helping me archiving my goals. Which is to be one of the best at what i love doing(modeling, and Acting)”

Does the height and weight match or did he lie about that? Just wondering.
No, it doesn't match. He shrunk 2 inches in height and gained 55 pounds.

From his booking: Inmate Lookup Tool

Height 5'11"
Weight 235

Just saw this new article by Daily News 7/4/19
“Prosecutors said Tuesday they had been granted an extension on filing formal charges until next week as they investigate what was on her wiped phone.” Makes sense since he wiped the iPad he stole at the university.

Man accused of killing Mackenzie Lueck was banned from Utah State University in 2012 after arrested | Daily Mail Online
Did LE verify that her phone was wiped?
Why did the article say he was looking for a wife to avoid being deported although he was "already married?"
I thought the one he found was the one he married. Imo

I'm very skeptical of this report. This is the only publication that's reported that LE has her phone let alone that it was wiped. This would be huge news and widely reported, if true. MOO

No, as far as I know, LE has not said that her phone was wiped. I don’t trust any MSM article that mentions bombshell ‘new news’ in passing. It makes me think that the reporter misunderstood something.

Hmmm...I found myself saying the same thing a few days ago....what was it about? Aha! From last Sunday: “The story just doesn’t feel right. I think that if AA were actually discovered to have a profile on a SD/SB website, it’d be bigger news. This feels to me as though the reporter may have just assumed something without evidence.”

I wish they would say "deplanes" instead of "departs" in that 2:09 a.m. entry. It throws me every time because it sounds like that's when she departed CA! MOO
Good idea -- I'll add a clarification to that timeline by Desert News. Thank!

I agree that it’d be a big coincidence if the phone died right then, but there’s several plausible reasons why she might have turned it off right then—conserving battery, help it charge faster, show him he had her undivided attention, etc.

It is unusual to turn the phone off unless she planned to charge it in his car or merely conserved the battery to call another Lyft, i.e, she did not plan their meeting to be too lengthy.

Me too. I think they confused that earlier story about the “wiped” iPad, with what happened to Kenzie’s phone.

Ajayi called officers back 30 minutes later and agreed to meet, according to police records. When confronted about the iPad, he said that his mother had given it to him and that he didn’t know how to use it. Officers said he had wiped the iPad’s memory and replaced it with personal information and apps.

Suspect in death of Mackenzie Lueck banned from college, records show

Yeah, they also say he is a US citizen and I'm not sure that has been verified either.

Re: the phone, I think the most simply answer is likely to be true; I would guess he disabled her first, then turned off her phone.

Maybe, but at his direction, I would think.

Random thoughts...
  • “AJ is being crucified already,” she said.
  • No. Mackenzie Lueck was crucified.
  • “There is no way you can watch all this that`s being said about your loving son and you be able to be at peace,” said Fashakin.
  • Mrs. Ajayi's son has made her a victim, not the media.
  • The family is afraid judgments are being made based on a limited amount of evidence revealed by police.
  • You betcha judgments are being made but they are not based on a limited amount of evidence. Read up, lady...
  • “There is no way AJ can get a fair trial in Utah considering the racial disparity over there,” said Fashakin.
  • Perhaps someone should convince him to man up and plead guilty?
May I just say BOOM! You nailed it!!!

(O/T:
Five years after rape kit backlog controversy, Salt Lake police celebrate 'huge strides'
May 2019

“While officials on the state level are still working their way through the statewide backlog, Salt Lake City completed processing its 10-year backlog of 768 kits last summer. And now, Salt Lake police are not only processing the kits in a timely manner, but have also made "dramatic changes in the way we respond to and investigate sexual assaults."

That's according to a presentation Salt Lake Police Chief Mike Brown is expected to give to the City Council on Tuesday as part of the police department's required progress updates on the backlog.

"Our entire department's culture has changed," states a report about the presentation submitted to the City Council. "We have made huge strides in creating a victim-centered approach to dealing with victims of all crimes."” )
