Did LE verify that her phone was wiped?
Why did the article say he was looking for a wife to avoid being deported although he was "already married?"
I thought the one he found was the one he married. Imo

More poorly written news: I believe it was more like the tablet browsing history indicated he visited websites related to arranged marriages, etc.

If University pursued the charges, I'm sure he'd say he was "looking for a friend."

Liar, liar, pants on fire....

Or maybe he used his past modelling experience as a way to connect with her. Maybe he told her he had contacts and could help get her involved with the agency he used.
He could have convinced her it was an easy way to make a lot of money, advised her to put together a portfolio and he would help her. Imo

Ohhhh! This is a great thought, moo.

About Me

I'm an ambitious young aspiring model looking to work with professionals. I used every second of my life to archive my goals which is to be the best.
I am taking an acting classes while working with star talent management here in Utah. I will love to work with any organization that will be interested in helping me archiving my goals. Which is to be one of the best at what i love doing(modeling, and Acting)”

Does the height and weight match or did he lie about that? Just wondering.
Ahh, “archiving” those goals! And no way he is 180 lol.

If she was planning on calling a Lyft, or he was going to take her home (she would have to have been really comfortable with him for the latter), then whatever they were meeting for was happening at the park, in her mind. I guess I don't see how a dark isolated park is somehow safer than his house.

BBM:

If ML was thinking that whatever she was meeting AA for was going to take place at that park, then that really, really limits the number of plausible reasons for her meeting him that night.

I can only think of a few things a couple of adults would meet at a dark isolated park to do at 3 am.

The entire defense is going to put the victim on trial. Of that I am sure and they are going to call up her friends and attack them about their lives, their histories, what kind of girl she "truly" was as they paint a picture which the media laid out in the first article on Daily Mail and make her appear to be something awful to sway the jury into thinking the trial is about her and not about him. Then they are going to throw up social media posts from people making it a race issue and claim he never had any chance for a fair hearing because anyone who could evvvveeer not think she was a prostitute and not think he was treated unfairly due to being black must be racist and must be unfair.

The entire defense will look completely beyond what he did and focus on these things. Seen it many times over and that is precisely why they want the case out of SLC because people in SLC do not deal with the modern nonsense as much as other places.

Whatever her lifestyle, friends or preferences, it could not explain her body and personal items being burned by AJ in his yard. Whether we are supportive of her right to choose a lifestyle or critical of her, a murder is a murder. And if today someone thinks that her lifestyle can even remotely explain her end, then tomorrow none of us is safe from AJ.

This is not even his first episode; there was a reported rape; and there was DV against TJA. He is a predator.

I feel very sorry for ML’s parents, siblings and friends, because it seems they are in for some hard time during the trial.

The simplest explanation is most likely. She/he puts suitcase in trunk. Both get in the car. He starts it up and playfully grabs her phone saying something mildly flirtatious, like “no phones tonight sweetheart” or “we wont be needing these”. Unbeknownst to ML, he turns it off and drives home. They’re talking, maybe joking around, she’s distracted, tired and emotional, maybe she makes a grab for her phone but he won’t give it to her and the car is moving. She’s not going to jump out in the middle of the night, in a (probably) unknown neighborhood without her phone and luggage. They enter his home to do whatever the plan was and he kills her.

I was thinking, WE see him as a dangerous lying loser with nothing to offer and don’t see how ML could have been attracted to him. But maybe she found him exotic and unusual. Maybe she liked that he is not the type of guy a sorority girl usually goes for. He portrays himself as much more well off, older, educated, worldly, whatever. If he always had women in and out like the roomie says, he was probably a smooth talker and knew how to appeal to women short-term. Maybe she knew him enough to want to meet him in the park at 3am, but there was a lot of things she never knew, or didn’t find out until it was too late. I just think hindsight is 20/20 and she didn’t know most of what he said was lies. All moo

Hi!
I’ve been lurking here for years, and this case has gripped me so much that it has made me finally create an account.

I don’t really have anything new to say that hasn’t been said already, but I want to get some thoughts I’ve had about this case out there.

I think ML knew AA as a friend. I think it’s interesting that she knew him on a level that he was texting her on her phone, from what LE has said. We don’t know how they met yet, but he wasn’t just an online friend. She gave him her phone number at some point.

I also think it says a lot that he was talking to her while she was out of town, after something very important happened in her life and she was close enough to him to be responsive (he told police he was texting her around 6 pm). She willingly met with him in the middle of the night after her Grandma’s funeral and a long flight, and she was also comfortable enough with him to not get all dolled up first. IMO all of this speaks volumes about the nature of their relationship. I can also see ML being a very caring person, telling him to pick her up at the park because, “It’s 3 am and I don’t won’t you to have to go through the hassle of getting me from the airport”, or maybe that was what he told her as to why he wouldn’t pick her up there.

We can see from the woman he was accused of raping and his “wife” that he was a man that didn’t like to be told no. I truly believe that ML thought of him as a friend and liked him, but he wanted more. I think he came onto her and she rejected him, which threw him into a violent rage. As far as just how much the events of the night were premeditated, I don’t know.

Ohhhh! This is a great thought, moo.
Well, the other thing about people advertising for models in some of these "agencies" is that sometimes they are really looking for models to participate in adult films, or photography.
Maybe he was making these types of movies and that's how he advertised for them.
Based on the many women always coming and going, and the cameras in the bedrooms I don't see why this might not be a possibility.
It seems he was always looking for a way to survive or make easy money. Imo

I guess you misinterpreted my question or i didn't express myself clearly... Please bear with me... What if ML had someone waiting for her at the airport? What if it was not a pleasant surprise? What if that person followed her? What if she turned her phone off because that person wouldn't stop calling her? What if that person followed ML and AA to his house? It's a plausible possibility...
I'm unaware of any evidence that points to such an occurrence. There are security cameras and security people at the airport, if this happened LE would likely have have had an "unpleasant surprise" individual on video.
Thank you, Seattle.

The fact that her phone goes off within seconds of getting into his car might be enough, right? It also seems to go to what LE thinks is a premeditated murder. I just wonder why she didn't try to get out of the car, if he actually took and disabled her phone at that point. The kidnapping charge of course could be related to him not allowing her to leave his house once they got there (but the phone thing is still concerning).

In a scenario where she turned off her own phone (to preserve battery? thinking she was with a friend?), then she goes voluntarily at least as far as his house.
While anything is possible, IMOO, the likelihood of her voluntarily turning off her phone is quite low.

5am? I might be missing something but what on the time line is 5am on Monday ML/KL went missing?

*edited spelling

I take back the 5am until I can find the source of the info.
I went back to check and can't find the article, just lots of articles with bits and pieces of restating the original I saw.

In that article, after AA named POI but before he was arrested, the neighbor said they were woken by a burning stench on early mornings the 17th and 18th.

AC Doubt stated in a press conference that the driver did not see "them" get into the vehicle. I will try to find it. MOO
I believe you are correct - additionally, on the very early threads there were multiple conversations about how the individual in the car did not get out to greet LK.

for everyone that was asking about any employment verification, i remembered reading short responses from Dell and Goldman Sachs in a MSM article so i went looking and found it again.

Police arrest man suspected of killing Utah college student

“Ajayi has worked in information technology for several companies including Dell and Goldman Sachs, according to his LinkedIn page. Goldman Sachs confirmed he worked as a contract employee for less than a year at the Salt Lake City office ending in August 2018. Dell said Ajayi had worked there but didn’t provide his dates of employment.

Ajayi also appeared to have pursued employment in modeling with a bio page on a website called modelmanagement.com. Court records show he is divorced.

also mentions court records showing his divorce was finalized? iirc that was something that had been reported both ways and we weren’t sure on..

<modsnipped quoted post>
If I remember correctly, didn’t AA claim to go to school in London?

Ahh, “archiving” those goals! And no way he is 180 lol.

Ha! No kidding.

I can't even read his crap without breaking out in hives.

Dude's writing is beyond horrendous. Riddled with grammatical and syntactical errors.

It's such garbage, I wouldn't even throw it on my compost heap, notwithstanding the fact that I don't even have a compost heap.

".....helping me archiving my goals."

Yeah, no worries there, AA.

Pretty sure the Utah State Prison is going to be more than happy to help you "archive your goals."

Yeah, I wondered if Goldman Sachs was the financial institution he was working at when the rape was being investigated. I can't remember the year though.
I read that he was separated from his wife in Sept 2017, and the divorce was finalized in January. I think. Imo

Mspionage - those pictures are amazing.

So...in between premeditated and completely spur-of-the-moment is opportunistic. I believe this man tried to acquaint himself with co-eds at his university (and perhaps women through the modeling agency). He cultivated a "friend group" of young women.

My first thought about why she met him at 3 am in such a strange way (not going directly to his house) was drugs (cocaine or meth came to mind).

However, reading through all the threads here, it's possible she saw him as a kind of friend. To me, going to someone's house at 3 am says "boyfriend-type relationship" but that's not necessarily true. Perhaps he did reach out to try and comfort her. Perhaps that was his MO in how he cultivated relationships with young women. It's possible.

But there has to be some reason why she met him in a park rather than go directly to his house by Lyft. If drugs were the reason, that makes sense to me and then he tells her that he has them at his house. If he's an actual drug dealer/user then surely the police could use dogs to find some evidence of that at his house, even if he tried to hide it.
