There’s no reason to make this any worse than it has to be, by focusing on the worst possible things that could have happened to her.

Regardless of what happened, this was bad.

We don’t know that he sadistically tortured her, or that she suffered for an extended period of time.

We could spend days speculating on this stuff, and it doesn’t get us anywhere.

Most killers aren’t serial killers, and most serial killers aren’t Jeffrey Dahmer.

We remember guys like that, because what they did was so unusual in the first place.

That sort of thing doesn’t happen with any regularity.

I think he raped her. He killed her. And then he burned her.

He kept no trophies, and his concern was self preservation.

If he truly burned her body, or at least parts of her body that might allow for identification, he may have removed the unburned bits from the fire pit and discarded them (and/or the unburned parts) in the canyon.

We don't know what they found, only that it was human tissue, and that it took a lab to identify it and match DNA. There was never a reference to skin.

Skin is an organ.
The largest organ our body houses.
And skin has 7 layers of tissue.
So, it could be skin.

In this day and age, clothing and jewelry are only a tentative identification. DNA is the gold standard, so to speak.

Authorities had initially believed that the man arrested in connection with Lueck’s death, 31-year-old Ayoola Ajayi, had burned her body in the backyard of his suburban Salt Lake City home.

Ajayi was taken into custody June 28 and has not yet been formally charged in connection with the crime.

Gill said the extension was necessary due to the “complex and active” nature of the investigation. He stressed again Friday that the investigation remains ongoing.

MOO he seems arrogant. MOO he felt he could do whatever he wanted without anyone looking in to it. Sadly he could have been right, if his victim had been disenfranchised. I think his biggest mistake was that he thought she was a person no one cared about.
