Please tell me if you can, what was found out about the mattress that they recovered? I guess somehow I missed that announcement. With this new information of finding KenziesK body, I'm hoping it will shed some light on how she died. This whole case has thrown me . I am starting to question everything about it. I am really curious to find out what brought them to Logan canyon to where they recovered her body in the first place. I read in one article that she was found in a stream? Was she clothed? Did her body look like it had been burnt? Nothing was said about the condition of her body when it was found. SO MANY UNANSWERED QUESTIONS.
Police announced they were looking for a mattress and box spring that were given away, and later announced they were recovered.

To my knowledge, nothing further has been stated about the mattress. MOO

I think the neighbors would have heard that. Even a gagged person can make a lot of noise.

Hi Suzi!

I dont think the neighbors would have heard anything especially if he had duct taped her mouth, and gagged her.

But even if not there have been countless cases where the neighborsrught next door did not hear one thing even those where the victims were shot with a high powered firearm even in apartments with adjoining walls to the victims.

The inside of homes have so many things that absorb, and buffer any sounds from being heard from the outside..

I think he did all his barbaric torture down in his basement anyway, and that would further absorb any sounds.

He may have desecrated her body in his garage because it would be closer to an exit door.

Even if outside I dont believe anyone would have heard anything.

I think, and pray KL quickly lost consciousness due to the brutal depravity he was making her endure.

Jmoo though

Ita. Arrogance is a typical downfall of psychopaths. These types are so shocked when there is an outcry over the victim. Because they cannot comprehend love, caring, and empathy. They view their victim as an inatimate object to be used to serve them. Their need is all they care about and to them it is worth the risk. They don't care about their victim, why would anyone else? Wrong!

Then you have the smart psychopath vs the dumb one. The smart ones run corporations and become world leaders. The dumb ones end up in prison. And this dude was dumb!

"Then you have the smart psychopath vs the dumb one. The smart ones run corporations and become world leaders. The dumb ones end up in prison. And this dude was dumb"

This statement made me laugh out loud. This is so true. We have, on this website, so many negative connotations about sociopaths and Psychopaths. And people with DSM related conditions.

There are many people who were diagnosed through what would be current DSM diagnosis that did very well in life. Relatively successful, and I always think of Ted Turner.

I just find it hard to really believe somebody with somewhat intelligence would do something like this premeditated given the technology today.

Exactly- after that first search they had nothing that they could hold him on; to keep him from killing himself, fleeing, tampering with evidence, or harming someone else. They also did not seal off that yard.

Yes, the defense will be all over that that they did not seal it, but yet they went in later and did a second search and took out more evidence. That timing coincided with the publication of the individual who said he had been hired to contract to do a secret room iirc.

True. But I don't think he necklaced her with the neighbors 25 feet away. MOO of course!

Disposal is where most murderers screw up. The best laid out plans for disposal go out the window when they realize how hard it is to burn a body or dig a grave.

I've never heard of them removing the body to somewhere else once they burned it though have you?

You are so correct though. No matter how well they may plan all of it out from beginning to end they usually wind up making mistakes.

Thank God most do, and its those blunders that leads to their arrest, and conviction.

MOO police didn't have the tissue DNA identified until some hours later in following day after the night search. They had released him per his rights.
Once they had the ML DNA match they arrested him at a friends apartment for aggravated murder.

I agree with OceanBlueEyes in not believing AA would have partially burned KL's body and then removed her and transported the body to the Canyon. Frankly why he would burn ANYTHING from the crime in his Yard is beyond my comprehension. Why he dug numerous holes is beyond me. Surely all of this would cause maximum attention to HIM.
Whatever happened to KL , why wouldn't he take her body with evidence , just package all of it up and dispose of it in the Canyon or even in the Dam. The End. Nothing but a phone call to tie him to Kenzie.
By doing this his phone call will lead LE to his home with a yard full of holes and evidence of a major fire with traces of female tissue. I mean this just seems soooo stupid....hard for me to believe premeditated.
Worst of all LE has released these grizzly details "desecration" allowing the public to come up with the most horrendous scenarios of what MAY have happened to Kenzie. Why not just state he was arrested based on evidence found that resulted in her death, especially if they knew they still needed a body. They have caused endless speculation---they had the guy --just wait until it all comes together. This is just my opinion. I am thankful AA made this so easy for LE to find and identify him so easily! That was great work!
I think he made mistakes because he panicked. Things did not go as planned. I do not think he planned to move her.

I am no expert and still new to websleuths, but I would think we would need to consider what types of killing and ritualistic behavior occurs in Nigeria in order to begin to estimate how he might behave with this murder and body disposal. That is one area I don’t want to research.

In any bonfire there are always pockets, voids, and crevices within the fire pit.

Some of her tissue may have been underneath something that did not completely burn protecting the human tissue beneath it.

I think he tried to burn her and once the neighbors asked questions he did remove her body, wrapped her up in a tarp and discard her in Logan. It’s hard to visualize but obviously he has written something similar in his book so that tells you his mindset. Of course at that point she was burn to unrecognizable which he thought would deter his capture.

I watched the first search live stream all night, and can confirm that crime scene tape surrounded the property, and not taken down until the SLCP van with bagged evidence backed out of the driveway (van was inside the taped and/or sealed area).

I also recall that LE remained guarding the property after all but the media departed the residence.

He could have done anything. Doing things he anything he wanted and relying on natural assumptions to be lucky. It was a digital trail that gave him away.

Property was continuously guarded and the media was there even reporting on a home delivery. MOO After the search it wasn't a crime scene until the lab results came in.

I’m still hopeful it’s ALL backed up in iCloud or Carbonite. Every text. Every movie. Every screen shot. Every hard drive.

He took too many precautions to evade detection for it not to be prepared. Moo, of course. I don't think he is a SK either. He is the typical killer who is so caught up in his wants and needs, that he greatly underestimated the risk, and got sloppy.

Not an SK, but possibly one in the making. The sound proof room in his own home lead me to believe he had plans.

He repeatedly used charm, anger and lies to control and manipulate people around him. Charm defuses and disarms and anger makes people back down. Lies confuse to a greater extent. I think he thought he could get away with a lot, because he always had.

IMHO, this could have been the beginning.

It happens many time even by those far more intelligent, and far more successful than AA in life.

They all believe they are going to get away with the murders they commit.

So it's not surprising to me in the least AA was another one who thought the same as countless other premeditated murderers have thought, and wound up being caught.

I would be very surprised if he was doing anything ritualistic in connection to his native culture. He seems very assimilated--that was the first thing I noticed about his social media profile, how Westernized he wants to be. He goes by an American nickname, he joins the Mormon church, he seems to be into Western pop culture, he doesn't advertise that he is from Africa or his country of origin.

It really stood out in contrast to the attorney his mother used as a spokesperson, who presumably is still more in touch with back home. I noticed she referred to him as a Yoruban American, far more specific than Nigerian. He just doesn't seem to care if people know he is Yoruban or Nigerian. It only really comes up in relation to his immigration status.
