On this forum it was reported that male students referred to the list of students, which includes addresses , etc as a "menu".
I've been off this thread for the weekend so excuse my ignorance. what "list of students" are you referring to here?

That is typical for an initial appearance. The court just makes sure the accused knows what he is charged with, inquires about representation (he is already represented) sometimes bond discussed, but here there is no bond, so its a non-issue. We probably won't learn anything knew officially for quite a while now.

#ayoolaajayi did not make a plea today and will have a scheduling conference on July 29th. He’ll be seen by Judge Richard Mckelvie. Plea won’t be made until after the prelim if he and council ask for it or wave that right.

Who are the attorneys? How many will he have?
I'm not sure the attorney(ies) has/have been named? I can't remember now; just that The Salt Lake Legal Defender Association has been appointed to represent him. MOO

I’ll be interested to see who the attorney is and see if the name matches the one Janet Fashakin mentioned. IMHO his clothes didn’t look too big as she complained about.

Since the public defender is representing him, there may not yet be an assigned attorney. They will appoint whoever is available for these initial hearings, since they are just routine. Then they will appoint a couple of experienced death penalty qualified defense attorneys to proceed with the defense. That is probably still being worked out at the public defenders office. He will have several attorneys working his case as well as staff and investigators , but his wont be their only case they are working on.

Man charged in student's death appears in court as friends wonder, 'Why Mackenzie?'

Ajayi, who is being held without bail, appeared in a yellow jail uniform and glasses over a video feed from the Salt Lake County Jail with his attorney, Neal Hamilton, at his side. He has not yet entered pleas to charges of aggravated kidnapping, a first-degree felony, desecration of a human body, a second-degree felony, and obstruction of justice, a third-degree felony.

[...]

Three of Lueck's friends who attended the hearing told reporters outside the courtroom they continue to wonder why their friend was killed and whether her death had been planned.

"Why McKenzie? I think that's a big question for us," said Lueck's friend AF. She said she and her friends "just immediately lost our breath" when Ajayi first appeared on the screen.

I tried to look on her page again and either I found the wrong page or she deleted it. I remember the attorney name she mentioned was Neil Hamilton. I’m not sure it’s ok to post it, but I do have a screenshot of her post. Someone let me know if it is ok and I will.

So she was right about the name anyway. MSM PLEASE tell us you are trying to look into this supposed girlfriend that Janet Fashakin mentioned on the post from her law office.

Oh, I didn't think to look at her FB. No screenshots allowed but don't worry about it - the article above names Hamilton. Thanks for checking! :)

Also wondering how they know it's tied specifically to this case, if it was just found. Why tie it to this case, unless it's something they were already looking for?
