We haven’t heard anything about her roommates or sorority sisters being interviewed. A couple of her sorority sisters have been leading the media push and handing out flyers.
Two of her sorority sisters gave live interviews on Fox today.

Oh! Good point. At that age I would party most of the night and start work the next day on two hours sleep.

Ugh.
The good old days!

This is a REALLY good theory!!! Maybe he/she decided to wait at the park, or maybe when the flight was delayed, ML said “I have no idea when I’ll be landing, I’ll just get a lyft to you later.” Maybe when she got off the plane, she contacted him/her and they said “Just meet me at the park and I’ll pick you up there.” That’s a really good theory, Waffleyes! That would explain the randomness of the park!
Im so new at this so thank you!

Okay so. Another theory that hasn't been discussed much.

She has an ex boyfriend right? Someone whom she dated for a while, like a year+?

Think about going through the trauma of a funeral of a close family member. Maybe she was looking for that familiar comfort. Not a SD or random hookup but maybe she reached out to her ex. They text all weekend, he agrees to meet her and spend some time with her. Maybe he's in a new relationship so he's being extra discreet about it. And she's very familiar with him, hence the comfy clothing.

Does this sound possible? Is he still in the area?

I had this thought too and even did some digging but I didn't think we were supposed to bring up specific people as a POI until LE did so I didn't mention it. I am new and still learning what can and can't be talked about. I did, however, fall down this rabbit hole.

This Q falls at random:

Can a cell tower's records be subpoenaed? Like can LE get a record of all phones that pinged near the park from 2:50am-ish to like 3:15am-ish?

thanks. JMO

Right, we can't name him here or talk about sleuthing too much here.

Salt Lake City PD uses SafeCam like Philadelphia. Besides the surveillance cameras that Salt Lake City operates, their PD can watch many business’ and residents’ security cameras instantly from computers at the police station.

By tapping into a camera located at the scene of a crime, they can see what is happening at the location instantly. But if they have several accessible cameras, they can also see what's happening nearby, which can be useful when searching for a suspect.

"The more areas that we have covered with these kind of cameras the faster the investigations will go," he explained. "It's very significant."

There are two levels of Safe Cam that police offer. One allows them access to the footage recorded by a camera. The other prohibits them from accessing the video remotely, but tells them there is a camera in the vicinity of a crime. Police can then go request the footage in person.

Program allows SLC police to connect to surveillance cameras

Here is a completely different spin on the park meeting; question of drugs; etc. Please note this is all just my opinion...and thoughts from my mind thinking of different scenarios. What if: She was bringing back some sort of drugs (small the medium amount) from LA; and her meeting in the park was to drop them off. She gets in the car to deliver them- they stay or drive away from the park. The "deal" goes down - but the payment to ML for transportation etc, is not what was agreed upon. She is a feisty gal - perhaps there was an argument that got physical...and didn't end well. There are many crimes of this nature here in NoCal and it usually doesn't end well for someone. jmo
She could have been taken by dealers.
That suitcase was oversized for a two day trip...
Drug deal gone wrong?
At any rate, her trip to LA is involved here.

I meant that LE haven’t said anything about interviewing sorority sisters or roommates. Or whether or not they were all accounted for.

Yes. It’s called a “tower dump.”

It’s incredibly common, and is used in all sorts of major crimes.

Yes.

Okay just speculation...what if

the Lyft driver that she requested had an accomplice who had the same car as him (disguised to be his car). Say ML got into that car, the actual Lyft driver drove to "her destination" without her in the car while the other fake Lyft driver took ML to some other location. Pretty far fetched...but possible?

Why is everyone so hung up on the dang bags? I'm a year older than Mackenzie and I have put my own bags in the car when having a friend who is male pick me up from traveling. Who cares how big the bag was; maybe it wasn't that heavy. This is such a weird detail for people to get hung up on as if a girl in her 20s would/should never have to lift her own bag into a car. Also, based on the fact that she's now missing with whoever picked her up, I feel like it's fair to assume that they probably weren't the helpful type that would jump out of the car upon seeing her luggage.

I get that sometimes that small details hold the biggest clues, but this one really bugs me.

My daughter would so agree with you. I think the bags aside, it seems weird to some that the person waiting at the park to pick her up doesn't get out of the vehicle to greet or give her a warm embrace. If this is someone known to her, and knows she just got off a red-eye from a funeral weekend, then it's kind of rude behavior to just sit there and wait for her to get in before welcoming her home.

You are right that we can’t talk about friends or family members unless they are named as POI’s by LE.

The one reason why I am not thinking drugs involved is most meetings for any exchanges at 3 AM a local park is about the worst choice for a dealer. LE patrols parks regularly and dealers usually know this and would avoid a park meeting at 3AM with drugs on board.

SLC Police release last known photos of missing woman - Oil City News Casper, Wyoming Community News Stream.

Courtesy of the Salt Lake City Police Department

"Doubt said that MacKenzie Lueck had been visiting family in California, and returned to Salt Lake City via airplane, at approximately 1:35 am, June 17. Lueck is said to have texted family members at approximately 2:00 am, that morning.

It is then reported that Lueck took a Lyft car from the Salt Lake City Airport to the Hatch Park area of North Salt Lake City. She was believed to have arrived in the park area at 2:59 am. Police say that that the Lyft driver reported Lueck met with an individual in a vehicle at Hatch Park, before the Lyft driver left the area."

If we don't see photos of her getting into the Lyft. I think the way she was dressed would be to meet someone she knows or a girlfriend.

Because it possible the driver unloaded the bags from his car and loaded them into the other vehicle...and then develops amnesia. After all it's been four whole days since he dropped off a young and very attractive single female in the middle of nowhere at three in the morning. Nope...don't recall anything about other vehicle or driver. Professional drivers are very aware of other vehicles, makes and models. I think a little more digging re this exchange is reasonable.

Driver may have told LE and LE hasn't told public.

Plenty of men these days don’t have traditional manners that I, and many people, grew up with. Many men no longer hold doors, step aside to avoid knocking into a woman, etc. etc. etc. It’s gotten so common that while I still notice it and it bothers/saddens me, I just accept it as a cultural shift. SO - I can definitely picture a man sitting at the wheel, merely popping the trunk to let ML put her luggage in there herself... if whomever she met didn’t get out to help her, no conclusions about gender can be drawn...

You are absolutely right, but this could be used as a HUGE clue. If male their are definitely generational differences. I would say older men would be more likely to get out and help where younger men not so much. Also gives a clue about it being a stranger vs someone she knew. Young or old I would think someone meeting her for the first time would probably be more apt to try and make a good first impression and be helpful helperton..just thinking out loud. All JMO

Regarding transporting drugs through LAX. Not a chance.

I travel through LAX often, believe me, no way.
And Kenzie is bright enough to never even risk that.
