Well, has there been any mention of her cell phone or tracking it?

That being said, I had room mates and suite mates in college who never went to class and would just disappear for weeks at a time...

Quotes from friends in some of the articles say ML's phone has been turned off for days and that she isn't answering texts.

If true, then either ML turned off her phone, someone else turned it off, or the battery died.

My money is on the first option.

If ML is voluntarily missing, I think LE's best shot at tracking her down will be via debit/credit card transactions.

I guess LE could be keeping things quiet on purpose. I just have a hard time with her missing work and a final exam without a word to anyone! But as a parent of one that is her age, I would be freaking out right now! MOO

Maybe she knew she couldn't do the exam.

I'm surprised that no one followed up on why she missed work and an exam. Exams and work require information about next of kin to follow up when someone doesn't show up and doesn't call in the absence.

If she planned to vanish and didn't want to discuss with parents, work, or school, she could contact police and tell them that she's okay. Police would announce that she has been located. End of story.

She hasn't been located. A lot of people use Tinder. I wonder if she used any dating apps and that's where she went after the airport.

Hey Everyone,

Forgive me if this has already been settled.

Please do not post any picture from a private account.

There are pictures of Kenzie that are a bit racy especially for someone who is a member of the Mormon church. No micro shred of evidence suggests there pictures have anything to do with the case.
In addition to not allowing pictures from private social media accounts pictures like these can really send people down all kinds of rabbit holes.

Please stick to facts and offering your logical scenarios.
Thanks,
Tricia

She got in at 1am and went to a destination in North SLC instead of home

Police are saying they don't believe she is in danger.

She had just come from her grandmother's funeral this weekend.

Work and finals awaited her. As well as another trip away for a wedding this coming weekend.

That sounds like an unusually tiring, stressful, busy, emotional couple of weeks.

I honestly think she's taking a break/had a mental break.

Missing classes & work is out of character for her....but the Lyft ride to a different destination vs. straight home was apparently out of character for her as well, and she did that voluntarily (as far as we know)

Is there a more specific area in North SLC?

Can police state that she has been located? If not, saying that "she's safe" simply means they're not looking.

No, they’ve been consistently vague as to where exactly she was dropped off.

They’re definitely looking, and they said they have “not discovered any information that would lead us to believe that Mackenzie has been harmed or is in danger at this time.”

The also said they are “concerned for her welfare.”

So she’s missing, they’re looking, but there’s no signs of foul play or anything particularly ominous.

EDIT: Ok just saw where her phone was turned off. Interesting...

I missed it too. Did you notice the time that the phone was turned off?
Thanks

Yes, thank you.
I have no idea what this means as I haven't seen or heard about photos. It makes me instantly think about Paige Birgfeld.

She didn't go home. The ride service seems to be above board, and she arrived at her destination. It's not her home. Does that mean it was a date? If so, why hasn't that person come forward to say that they are both fine and wish to be left alone.

If she's safe, then someone must be able to state that she has been located. As soon as that happens, everyone will stop paying attention. "She's safe" isn't enough.

I understand - she is missing, she has not been located, there is no evidence of harm, foul play or danger, she is an adult who has every right to be missing, but she is requested to contact authorities to let them know that she is okay? She's safe until proven otherwise.

Thank you. I suppose police have to be very careful in how they report the situation since nothing can be ruled out ... but it has been several days and she has not been located.

I still think they know more than they’re saying.

I believe they do have evidence that she is missing voluntarily, but until they put eyes on her they’ll keep looking.

I think that not only is there no evidence of foul play, but there is something that is pulling them in the opposite direction.

It’s the best I can come up with to explain their language and posture.

Maybe this is a delicate dance like not announcing that someone is deceased months after a disappearance simply because there is no body. There is no concrete proof of death and so no report can be made. In the same way there is no evidence that she is missing. She went somewhere, she missed all following appointments, and there is some reason that this is considered normal. What is it?

I'm sure this has already been considered, as I haven't read all the pages, but what if the person she was meeting has some sort of public role. If that's the case, police would not release the name if a person with some sort of profile position said she arrived from the airport, she left and he doesn't know where she went.

What great imaginations we have when information is missing!

Is there a rich or expensive area in North Salt Lake City?

That's my point to in all this. Regardless of the lack of proof that there is any thing a miss in this case, the proof that is there is all the things that brought this case to light in the first place. If this girl had gone off the grid on her own for reasons only known to her then yes she can do that she's an adult. But....as an adult is it normal to not be accountable for her self She has a lot of things going on in her life that she has set up as means to her future. Would it seem normal for a girl to let all that go unattended without any kind of announcement that would assure these things in her life were protected. What would the explanation to all this be that would make it seem normal?

I am very familiar with the area of North Salt Lake.
When most local people think of North Salt Lake they think of the area with the oil refinery and a street called Beck Street. There are a few sleazy bars and a few not so bad bars with good food and music . North Salt Lake is considered a low income area. High crime, gang activity, subdivisions. DISCLAIMER: I haven't lived in North Salt Lake for over 30 years so maybe things are better but you would not think of North Salt Lake as a place with a lot of money. There are some really run down and bad areas and other areas are better.

That's how I remember things in North Salt Lake.

Not sure if this map has been posted already Map does not show where her ride dropped her off

What Happened to MacKenzie Lueck
I am not sure what that map is about. Do they think she was all the way down near the Salt Palace? I have a completely different address for where she lives.

That map also states that she took the Lyft to her home when all statements from LE indicate otherwise.

It sounds like, if it is true that she took a lyft to North SLC by choice, it is a low income quadrant of the city and no one would notice a 23 year old who missed exams and work?

What would she being doing there? I read that her apartment was close to the University of Utah.

What map shows that she took a lyft from the airport to her home?

Could you please post or link? Current information is that she took a lyft and was delivered safely, but she didn't go home.
