Does the family think that she is deliberately hiding, LDS religious reasons?
Was she living in a cult or compound?
No signs of anything like that. She was a college student, living with roommates.

We haven’t heard pretty much anything from the family, and know very little about her.

This is what we know so far about where she was last seen:

What map shows that she took a lyft from the airport to her home?

Could you please post or link? Current information is that she took a lyft and was delivered safely, but she didn't go home.
It was posted about 20 posts ago but I can't see how it is useful in even the slightest way. Since it doesn't show anything useful - including where she lived as where they have her face on the map is a block away from the Salt Palace and that doesn't even match her last address nor prior address in Salt Lake City.

I wish police would share the type of location of the destination in North Salt Lake. Was it a park or another public space like a restaurant or bar? Was it a private residence? I feel like if it was a private residence then they would have already interviewed the person or persons living there. I also feel if it was a private residence the police would be less likely to share the information which they haven't. MOO

I am very familiar with the area of North Salt Lake.
When most local people think of North Salt Lake they think of the area with the oil refinery and a street called Beck Street. There are a few sleazy bars and a few not so bad bars with good food and music . North Salt Lake is considered a low income area. High crime, gang activity, subdivisions. DISCLAIMER: I haven't lived in North Salt Lake for over 30 years so maybe things are better but you would not think of North Salt Lake as a place with a lot of money. There are some really run down and bad areas and other areas are better.

That's how I remember things in North Salt Lake.
EXACTLY. North Salt Lake hasn't changed at all. It's riddled with drugs, gang activity, and various other crime. The fact that she went there after the airport makes me worried. Especially because Utah has a lot of human trafficking.

That would be standard practice. I’m sure the family has also taken it upon themselves to do that.

BBM:

You mentioning family sparked the thought:

If there are strong indicators that ML is voluntarily missing, one option the family might want to consider is hiring a private detective themselves to see if they can track down her whereabouts that way.

The worst case scenario is none of her friends know of anyone MacKenzie knows in North Salt Lake. Hopefully at least one does know and told law enforcement. Same goes for anything MacKenzie could have been involved with. If any of her friends is keeping a secret they need to let law enforcement know as they aren't helping her. Obviously, there is something being left out of this and I don't think among all her friends that they are clueless as to what that is.

Her phone records will be critical to this. The question is whether or not Salt Lake City Police have enough to get a warrant. Hopefully they do and have already received her phone records.

Excellent post.

I think we may in fact be looking at a situation where none of ML's university friends know about the North Salt Lake connection.

It may be the case that ML is someone who really compartmentalizes different aspects of her life and "never the twain shall meet."

Still, as you point out, there may be someone she confided in who has a glimmer of understanding about the North Salt Lake connection, and can help shed some light.

If so, that person needs to be talking to LE.

<modsnip: quoted post was removed> ... perhaps her new guy, if there is one, was not aware that she was going to drop by and surprise him when she got back from the trip. She possibly might have caught him with another woman. Fight ensued. Then ... what?

I hope and pray not. She seems like an extremely likable young lady, loved by her family and many others. We need people like that, and she needs her life. Please be safe, Kenzie. Come home.

A couple thoughts.

I am slightly older than ML, but it would not be unusual for me to go to a guy I’m seeing’s house late at night for some “support.” I know this can be seen negatively but it’s just a statement that this does happen and girls do it just like guys.

Perhaps, if this was not a brand new lover, could she be pregnant and disclose it to this partner? Maybe she’s in danger or maybe she voluntarily hiding while processing how to handle this with her more conservative family?

Lastly, I’m a university professor and can speak to many students attending funerals/having events come up and asking for extensions/turning in things early. I always accommodate. AND my student interactions related to any of their private life, details we’ve arrange, whether or not they attended class or turned in an assignment are protected by law. I legally cannot give out that information about a student without legal request. So it’s possible she did prearrange being gone with her professors but it hasn’t come out yet.

All JMOO.

Good morning.
I have a question that I would like to ask of locals or anyone with better knowledge on Salt Lake City than me.
Thanking ya'll in advance. And yes, I don't think I ever sleep. ;)
Does anyone know of any locations that would be open in North SLC when ML went missing?
This part of town is said to be very LDS and most businesses close early. The only things I can see that were open during that time were a strip club, gas station, and subway.
Any ideas on why she would go there unless she knew someone in that area? In North SLC I mean.
TIA
And as usual, coffee brewing

New article:

Salt Lake City police Sgt. Brandon Shearer said Saturday that the car took Lueck from the airport to North Salt Lake — the municipality in Davis County. Shearer declined to provide an address.

“We’ve confirmed with Lyft, the app, that’s where she requested to go, and with the driver that that’s where she did go,” Shearer said.

“We don’t have anyone searching any particular area right now," Shearer said, "because we don’t have any credible evidence of where she might be.”

There’s no evidence Lueck is in danger, Shearer said, “other than the fact she hasn’t been heard from.”

<Snipped>

Fine (sorority sister) said she didn’t know why Lueck would go to North Salt Lake or anywhere other than home. Fine assumes Lueck was meeting someone, but doesn’t know who. Lueck had no significant other, Fine said.

Friends try to find missing woman Mackenzie Lueck with questions and Lauren McCluskey on some minds

(Catching up)

Also from the above link:

“Fine said Lueck’s phone has been off since Monday, and she has not been active on social media; Lueck didn’t show up for her job at a Salt Lake City laboratory nor classes at the U.; her cat and her car remain at her house. Lueck’s luggage hasn’t been located either, Fine said.”

Excellent post.

There really isn't a lot of information a school will share these days with parents without legal request.

I don't find it at all unusual for a college student to be heading out somewhere at 1:00 a.m.

Is she undergrad or grad school? Anyone know what she's studying and how she's doing in school? Flying home for a funeral and then heading back for finals -- that's a tremendous amount of stress.
