Deceased/Not Found UT - Matthew Johnson, 51, Utah Ntl Guard member, missed work, car found a block from home, Cottonwood Heights, 20 Sept 2024 *Arrest*

I agree that it seems she had to have some help. I can't imagine she was able to move his body from the bed to the truck by herself, but I guess adrenaline can increase strength. We've all read stories of someone lifting a car up during an emergency.
Now that I’ve read the articles shared in the thread, I believe she could have moved his body by herself. But digging a grave, even a shallow one, is hard.

She was smart enough to get his body down the stairs, but not smart enough to not confess to her lover.

“Gledhill told Informant that Matthew had returned to the home on September 20, 2024, and started yelling at her because he knew she had been sleeping with someone else. Gledhill told Informant that on the night of September 21, 2024, she had shot Matthew in the head with Matthew’s 9mm Glock as he slept in their shared bed. Gledhill stated that she smashed Matthew’s cell phone and hid his vehicle in a neighborhood near their house. Gledhill told Informant that she loaded Matthew’s body into a rooftop storage container, slid him down the stairs by herself, and loaded him into the back of her minivan. Gledhill stated that she had taken Matthew’s body north, dug a hole, and buried him in a shallow grave.”

ETA LINK and another thought: Wife charged with missing husband's murder; court documents describe what happened to him

Per the timeline in this article, she showed “informant” a weapon the day before she allegedly shot her husband. I have to wonder if there was a fight? Had he really found out about the affair? Or did she make that up because she was ready to put her plan in place?

Good grief, who has time for an affair with three kids?! She sounds a lot like Sherri Papani, Borderline Personality Disorder, creating drama, for no real reason. Lies.

Questions:

What happened to the (likely very blood soaked) old mattress?

No one was looking for MJ for several days?

Gledhill gives me premeditation vibes by having her children stay over with grandparents the night in question.

MOO

Key info from this article:
  • Police first started searching for Johnson on Sept. 25 after one of his coworkers contacted them, requesting assistance in locating him after he had not returned to work and his phone was going straight to voicemail, court documents show.
  • When contacted by police on Sept. 28, Gledhill said she wanted to report her husband missing and said he hadn't been seen or heard from since Sept. 20 when they had an argument at their home, according to court documents.Gledhill told police Johnson told her "he was going to be gone for a week and not to call him," according to court documents. Police said that she seemed distracted and at times "nervous" during her initial call with an officer, records show.
  • Gledhill is facing nine charges including one count of first degree murder, five counts of felony obstruction of justice, one count of tampering with a witness and one count of abuse or desecration of a dead human body
  • Gledhill had also allegedly arranged for her parents to care for the couple's children the night the murder was allegedly committed, and then asked them to continue caring for them another day "presumably while she was cleaning up the crime scene and disposing of Matthew's body," prosecutors alleged in charging documents.
  • She was found by the court investigator to be "an instigator and one to goad Matthew into a response in order to get him in trouble," court records show. "The State believes that defendant was very calculating in her crimes," court records said.
Much more in article.

hhhmmm…,

A neighbor told police that on Sept. 24, 2024, she saw the defendant’s parents in the defendant’s house cleaning; they did not leave the house until 11 p.m. When police confronted the defendants’ parents about them being at the defendant’s home on Sept. 24, 2024, her mother said she was only there for an hour. She also told police she had purchased a mattress from Amazon at the request of the defendant. The defendant’s father said he didn’t remember details of the day except that he had been at the defendant’s house for a short period of time.

“Detectives confronted the defendant’s father about how long he was at the house and if he went into the master bedroom, and he responded, ‘I did not go in where the incident happened.'”

Detectives served a search warrant at the defendant’s parents’ home and found a plastic tote near the bedroom where the defendant would sleep while she stayed there, the statement says.

“In the tote was a Glock 19x gun box that was green and tan in color, wrapped in a child’s onesie. The gun container is consistent with the gun model and color which she had shown to the informant, loaded, on Sept. 19, 2024.

Nice find @mlhenn …… IANAL….. but now maybe some additional charges come in….. and force some tables to turn? Get some people talking…… Supposedly helping clean the defendant’s house and now possible evidence from the crime in their residence? How about: tampering with evidence; obstruction of justice; murder accessory after the fact? SMH.

And hoping that MJ’s remains can be located. Thank you again sir, for your service. :( MOO

So, she used a “roof top storage” to help her move the body. If it was like this one, I can see how she could push/pull it easier out of the house. She turned off her phone for a few hours, so that leaves the police knowing the direction she headed, but not the location of the body.

I too say put pressure on the parents to get to some truth in this matte.

Yeah, her parents are in on the coverup 100%!
Did they also help with disposal?

I've wondered this too. MOO but it sounds like a very rocky marriage, throw in the affair and possibly she wanted to start a new life together with 'informant'. Perhaps she and informant had even fantasized about what if he was gone. It's very telling to me she went to his house around midnight to tell him what she did. She was likely never expecting he would go to police. MOO

Oh, yes I agree -- I think they know more than they're saying ?
Omo.

What was her plan here? She expected to confess to affair partner and they would ride off into the sunset leaving kids with her parents?

The informant told police Gledhill 'assumed he would be like her and if her friend told her a hypothetical story, she would say, 'Let me get my shovel!' and take the information to her grave.'

Not completely conclusive - meaning she herself could have taken the tote to her parents house. But IMO, they knew what happened and helped their daughter after the fact - at a MINIMUM.

I guess I can buy into the "she acted alone-adrenaline" theory, absent any other indication otherwise. But mostly because she was charged with "drug possession with the intent to distribute". So I'm thinking methamphetamines, which also makes sense with her erratic behavior & thoughts.
