Is it normal for the Judge to ask the witness additional questions? Isn't it up to both sides of attorneys to ask questions making their case and the Judge decides on that information?

He seems to side with the defense a lot.

Smtms but it's RARE to me; I feel this judge is INTERFERING IN THE PROCESS. He isn't allowing the process to proceed on it's own he is a prob for me....has been from the start. :jail:

It's not unusual for a judge to ask questions when the jury is not present.

Has anyone seen the statements that Gypsy actually wore some of Michele's clothing to a court hearing? Diabolical these two, made for each other...

I didn't but I did hear he packed up her stuff that very day or the very day after she died? WTF who does that!!:tantrum::tantrum:

I was looking for the 20/20 epi that was yanked I never found it even the waybackmachine, no go. But I did find that one beautiful tribute to Michelle so I posted it on the main thread...because it really captured her being such a loving mom. It was so heartfelt. someone else then linked to it as well. It's a very sad case, this man didn't want the trappings of the life he made with Michelle and he wanted out. Out of fatherhood Out of Husbandhood out of that Life, and quickly. He is scum on the bottom of my shoe! I can't stand to look at him and I think he is evil. Whatever evil is; it's in his eyes when he looks at the camera. He is so pissed he is often seething at what he is hearing; seething as he sits there. I watch him.

Cherry, I have not been following this thread before today, and I did not know all this stuff about his past....just a couple of tidbits every here and there from HLN. I have to say that, kind of watching the trial from a distance on HLN, I don't see any of the evil-ness on his face or that he looks very angry. Sometimes he looks like (or wants people to think) the witness is lying or making things up.

So I'm just saying that we should be prepared if the jury comes back with a not-guilty, b/c they will not know any of the things about his background/past life.

I have tried to keep up and join in but work has kept me too busy lately :(

This trial has not been as exciting as many we have followed, although it has all of the elements to be very interesting. I'm surprised there are not more people chatting about this trial

Yes I'm going to say Typical God Complex, many Dr's have them, Nurses too and you have to really watch for that when in hosp situ's. IMO. NO offense to all good drs and nurses out there! But some are sadistic and I think MM is one.
I see him as Sadistic.

I'm a nurse. I am not God.

I will admit that nurses and doctors have the ability to "play " God.
I even worked for a doctor, until he asked a patient to call him God. I quit that very day!
I see this in the "defendant " as well.

I don't think the prosecution has done that great of a job, but the trial's not over yet. Some of the more compelling witnesses are coming up. Based on what I have seen so far, I think there's enough to convict him, but it's not so overwhelming that I'd be confident of a guilty verdict

IMO Martin puts a very dramatic spin when cornered. IMO he convinces the Army/Navy (cant remember) he hears voices. Anytime Michele calls him out he deflects with a very dramatic over the top response.

Not yet. They're still having the hearing to decide if she can testify

It's been 13 years and my mom's sewing machine, patterns, cutting table and ALL the fabric she had is still there.
I finally cleaned her closet and drawers out after 10 years.
Dad can't bear to part with it much less ask anyone to do it for him.
(They were married 35 years)

This man IS a monster.
Poor family!

Yes it is normal for the judge to ask ?'s. He has to rule on this so he needs to know things that the lawyers don't always bring out. jmo

Agree. Prosecution has an uphill battle. I keep thinking of the Scott Peterson case. He got the DP. So much of that case was very circumstantial as this case presents as well.

I followed the Jodi Arias trial where there was a lot of chatting. IMO, a lot of the comments were making fun of everybody on the defense team over and over again. Posting photo shopped pics. This trial thread has none of that which I really appreciate. Not many guests however!
