The public display telling of RM's marriages and mental state seems to be deliberate to shake her up and make her seem unstable?

This defense attorney is cruel. I am getting caught up on HLN as I had a horse issue. Unbelievable. The question regarding the money not being Michelle's to give to Rachel because Michelle did not work out of the home and collect a paycheck? Any concerns the jury may have had about Rachel just went poof. This defense lawyer just insulted every mother in the world. JMO

Roma Henry is the picture taking lady at the award ceremony

hopefully her testimony isn't tainted......lol

Can't find roma henry in relation to this case. anyone know who she is?

Isn't she the lady at the award ceremony that MacNeill insisted she take his picture?

21merc7, the problem goes way deeper than that. The brilliant detectives had the sister of the witness interview her. It's not even a matter of whether LE properly interviewed her or not. And they definately have no recording of Alexis interviewing her.

OMG! Wow. Thanks for letting me know.

Well, none of that is admissible, or would not be in this State. Judge needs to look up some case law about putting her on the stand and any appellate issues that could come from it.

Goodbye gang until tomorrow and as my grandpa used to say "don't take any wooden tainted nickels."

That's still different than having the sister interview her. I'm just saying that the police should have been able to see the problem with that, whether it would eventually lead to charges or not. They should have seen the need to have someone independent ask and record the questiona and answers.

I don't think the detectives asked Alexis to "interview" her -- they asked to have Ada draw a picture

ETA: They did have CJC do an interview with Ada, I'm not sure of the timing though

That was brutal cross of Rachel

But it feels more like 150#. Seriously, it's back-breaking! I finished my basement a few years ago (still one of my proudest moments, because it required me to step SO FAR out of my element - go me! :) ). The only thing I ended up hiring out was the sheet rock. I spent three or four days, giving it my best shot. Eventually, I decided that my health was more important than my ego.

There is NO WAY a person who is disabled to even a small extent could move and hang sheet rock. It's brutal!

If the child was interviewed, then defense and prosecution should have copies of the recording. The recording could have what are considered "leading" questions if LE was not properly trained to interview children. If the recording does, then all of that is inadmissible.

Defense will also argue, or already have, that the child could have now been told what to say, what happened, what her memories are, after all of this time, making testimony invalid a.k.a. unreliable/tainted.

There is a recorded interview with the child that was done by the skilled child advocates at CJC. No one is trying to get into evidence what Ada said to Alexis

So hard to do alone due to the size and it's awkward!

What was the defense point with the copies of the checks? A check for $1334.and some odd number of cents wouldn't be a gift - at least I've never given or gotten a check with an odd number of cents.

What I heard Rachel say wasn't that MacNeill never gave her anything, she said that he never gave all the children $5000 each at the same time. So what was the point of digging out all those checks???

I don't like the vibe I just got from her!
She told the Dr what happened to her
WE have no idea what that might be...

and the defense is calling her delusional?- or saying the Dr noted that she was?

At least she agreed to get help and got it.
Why should her father or the defense even know about this?
A+ for her in my book!
This happened in August 2012?

Nice job defense kick her while she is down.

Ah ha! Dad vowed to "destroy "the girls... they lived in hiding ...

Jury can know about a bi-polar diagnosis but not that he had/has schizophrenia -
That never goes away does it?
or did HE LIE and say he had it?

Whatever the check was for I'll bet she knows.
I can't help but feel like her dad is
(For lack of a word)
behind these questions and is trying to warn her or convince her not to talk about something??

What was all that mom didn't participate in Easter? Stuff???
She had a migraine... she was "sick '

Or she was nauseous ...
Was that the day the mother was comatose?
Easter was Sun April 8 2007.
Didn't Alexis say her mom was comatose 2 days before her dad made her leave on the 10th?

A narcissist would kill someone on Easter to ruin the holiday for everyone.
IMO...
cause the children were paying mom more attention than dad.
Holidays are ALWAYS about the narcissist!
Guess he wasn't getting enough attention from his nanny friend.

Today was the turning point of this trial. Rachel did a great job on the stand and the mental health issues and all that the defense brought up is going to back fire on them. Whew.....long day in court today....good night everyone.

Sorry, Just got back home.. was there a ruling on whether Ada can testify?

  • #1,600
My heart just broke when Rachel testified today. If she were my child, or if the same happened to one of my children, I would stand up and announce my guilt (whether I was or wasn't guilty). I could never let my child go through that torture.
