Short term memory loss??? Where is the defense going with this?

The defense hopes everyone loses their memory and forgets who is on trial and what for.

Didn't one of Macneill's ex-mistresses say that MacNeill told her that he had killed before and gave the victim potassium to make it look like a heart attack?

Yes she did

Liquid potassium is extremely bitter, but could be mixed with sweetened drinks to cover the taste. I would think the potassium in liquid form could have been added to the liquid Lortab (hydrocodone), which is pretty sweet (I had it for strep throat). Good grief!

Ina, are you a nurse also? Am trying to jog my memory on potassium during a period of low oxygen, thinking there is a reverse flux into the blood stream (from cells that are dying into the blood stream). Somehow Michele consumed excess potassium, or she was in renal failure?? Need to research to refresh memory.

No, I'm not in the medical field. I just read too darn much. Potassium can be injested or as injection I believe. After an MC or maybe some other cardiac events yes, influx into bloodstream so it's elevation is not seen as odd or out of place. I wonder what effect that had on the official cause of death being determined to be natural causes? Hmm

The death due to high potassium level would look natural, until labs were available. Don't know how long that takes. I just can't handle the smirk of one of the defense attorneys.

Just letting everyone know HLN did not show toxicology guy. Instead they are gearing up viewers (sadly me) to watch them because of gypsy

Will she even testify today? It's Friday, could they hang us like a soap opera?:scared:

I'm surprised Marty only got Ambiem and not Restisril(sp)I use to have to take that, I called it the "COMA" pill. Went off of it after about 1 1/2 months. I never knew Vicadon and Loritab were the samething/drug. I get Vicidin every month for my disabilty, no wonder the dr. wouldn't change me to Loratab:facepalm: I read today the FDA is making it harder next yr to get Vicidon, can't find the article, just read it this morning.

Also from the article I quoted above:

"If you inject someone with potassium, you can alter their electrolytes and potentially put someone in cardiac arrest," said Spitz. "That's not easy to do, because you have to inject someone against their will. It would be very hard to detect as far as the potassium goes, because potassium is normally present in the body and you really can't test it after death with any degree of certainty as to the level, and that's because the levels of potassium change in the body change rapidly after death."

Spitz added: "Even insulin needles are very small and can be used to inject somebody. If you found somebody in a compromised state, there are a lot of things you could do to them that could go undetected."

Does anyone know what medication Michele was taking for her high blood pressure?

Not to mention, post-mortem potassium rises rapidly. Isabelle described the reason why.

Liquid potassium is awful.....I could barely drink it

I still want to know when he made those 911 calls. Was it while Ada was finding her mom?

I thought I heard some of Ada's recorded statement and she said that she found her mom and ran to get her dad and had to pull him along and into the bathroom and once there the dad told her to call 911. I don't know if she did and if she handed the phone off to MacNeill and then he told her to go get the neighbors. I believe he was frantically removing Michele's lower garments while on the 911 call. Did he hang up the first time when he left the bathroom with the wet pants. I don't know. I think he made sure Michele was dead before he set up Ada to discover her.

Great testimony! Combining the drugs, even tho therapeutic levels will cause the person to be near comatose.

What the heck are the defense attorneys smiling about?? ugh

Who is on the stand in real time???

Agree. I kind of lean toward the bathtub being part of his plan. Make it look accidental. I could be wrong tho.

Yes I do think the bathtub was a back up solution if she didn't succumb to the drug cocktail because I think he attempted a dry run of killing Michele by overdosing her when Alexis found her mother almost comatose, accused her father of over medicating Michele and MacNeill admitting he may have accidently overdosed Michele.

So obviously we're not getting to Gypsy's testimony today :(

How would Michelle have had the wherewithall to even take a bath with all these drugs in her system? On her own? OMG
