I missed that what happened?

Spencer handed Dr. a water bottle for an estimate of how much water was expelled from Michele during CPR and then Spencer said Dr. Perper please give me the water bottle back. Paraphrasing there. It was Spencer's tone..sounded rather angry and condensending to me. You would have to hear it. :moo:

I think Spencer is so rude to cut off the doctor's answer. He just walked away from the podium. Did his bladder just go on him or what?

I wonder what the jurors are thinking.

They are thinking about the law of holes. "When you are in one, stop digging."

The defense attorney needs to give this up. I am sure the jury has glazed over. This is highly technical medical physiology or stuff being debated back and forth. JMV

In fairness, Perper is being being frustrating and the prosecution could object if they feel the defense isn't letting him finish an answer.

From my very limited perspective, it seems like with Alexis's cross that the defense has some good points to make, but they get kind of lost among all the dumb trivial stuff.

If the jury is anything like me I really appreciate the doctor explaining things. It explains how he got to his conclusion and I resent the atty trying to cut him off.

I work in the medical field and also teach A&P. I think Dr. Perper is making some very good points.

I do not like this defense attorney.

I don't think Michele was in the tub that long. In the beginning it was testified to there was no wrinkling of the skin. Then again I don't know if the skin would wrinkle once somebody is deceased.

Osmosis of cells would not be dependant on if/if not deceased imho . (where is joypath !) Water travels to higher salt concentration .

I could be wrong but I think Dr Perper is extremely intelligent. I think he is frustrated with the inability of defense to understand what he is saying. As if he expects people to accept his explanation without question.

It is such a maze from point to point that I don't know that the defense made any points.

Are we getting close to the hour to cross statement from Spence? Or is this another example of poor time management like the 30 minutes more comment. :floorlaugh:

Trying to remain awake in the classroom, I googled Michelle's picture since I don't think I've ever seen it. She looks so familiar (esp. in the pic the girls are holding up), I can't figure out why.

Spencer 'So today you are saying...

please that was a lame one

Yes. Fresh water is hypotonic, meaning water enters the cells. When water enters the lungs, it enters the cells and causes the red blood cells to lyse or explode. Thus the exploded red blood cells become mixed with water, causing the appearance of bloody water within the lungs. Subsequently, the bloody water in the lungs is forced out, either passively or actively. IMO this also caused the tub water to appear bloody. I hope I explained this correctly. Dr. Zuri explained this to me a few days ago and I hope I remembered it right.

Lol and zuri explains my above comment . thanks Dr. zuri

And Spencer will say, "So, Dr. Perper, these temperatures are very close to the temperature of Michelle upon arrival at the hospital, right?" So the temperature indicates death was within an hour, right?"

And Dr. Perper will say, "As I said, the temperature of the body is affected by its surroundings before death and as I said we don't have that measurement, so I cannot say if that is right or not."

Have they ever addressed Michelle's stomach contents? I had a thought about coffee, or, um, brown water being expelled ... ?

You're probably right in your first paragraph. Another factor may be that Perper's hearing isn't exactly that of a 30yo (e.g. repeating page numbers 2-3 times every time).

I'm giving the defense the benefit of the doubt that there are some good points mixed in, but like you say it's hard to tell. Some of it is obviously a waste of time.

Has his "hour" crossed the two-hour mark? I believe it has.

I wonder if the jury is appreciative of the defense attorney drawing his interpretation of cellular structure - then interrupting Dr. Perper as he attempted to answer questions asked of him about the diagram?
How many doctors are testifying in this trial, are in that room, and the lawyer is drawing medical illustrations? Seriously, did he make little smiley faces in the cells?
This seems ridiculous.

Spencer needs a nap.

I'm surprised the prosecution isn't objecting when the defense makes little snide remarks that are not questions. "That was my point." Stuff like that. If nothing else, it helps point out to the jury that the defense atty is being a jerk.
