As the murder trial for Pleasant Grove doctor Martin MacNeill continues Tuesday, several prison inmates are expected to testify that the defendant revealed details about how his wife died, admitting to at least one that he killed the woman.

The inmates were housed in federal prison with Martin MacNeill while he was serving time for a previous ID fraud conviction.

Prosecutors say the inmates will testify that Martin MacNeill referred to his wife, Michele MacNeill, as a "*****," and said that he was glad she was dead.

According to court papers, one inmate says Martin MacNeill told him that he drugged up his wife on Oxycontin and sleeping pills, then convinced her to get into the bathtub and held her underwater "to help her out."

At least two inmates also say Martin MacNeill boasted that authorities could not prove that it was murder.

I think Oxycontin is a time released drug. If he crushed it up and gave it to her WOW!

ETA: Yes, Oxycontin is time released. There is also a time release formula of oxycodone. These meds are not to be crushed!

ETA: Yes, Oxycontin is time released. There is also a time release formula of oxycodone. These meds are not to be crushed!

Michele was prescribed Percocet (name brand) which is Oxycodone and Acetaminophen.
Oxycontin (name brand) is a time release formula of Oxycodone.

"Out of concern for their safety, none of the four men set to testify will be identified by name — they’ll be identified by the word "inmate" and the numbers one through four. Judge Derek P. Pullan has also barred the news media from using video or still images of the men’s faces".

I sure hope this is the case. No audio would ruin my day.
