Judge McVey just denied #MartinMacNeill's motion to change venue. Says media coverage is state-wide, not just Utah County.

Of course she can and I bet she will. The defense is just grasping for everything and anything they can. JMO

http://www.deseretnews.com/article/865606062/Judge-mulling-request-for-new-trial-in-Martin-MacNeill-murder-case.html?pg=all

A judge is weighing whether to grant Martin MacNeill a new murder trial after defense attorneys argued that information about a letter written for an inmate would have changed the jury’s reasoning.

Defense attorneys are asking the judge to declare a mistrial, as well as order that double jeopardy protections apply and to dismiss the case altogether.

“Frankly, there is a lot here,” 4th District Judge Derek Pullan said at the close of Monday’s hearing. “There is much to consider.”

ARGH! However, IIRC, jurors made it clear they didn't put much stock in the testimony of the inmates. Since it does not seem the prosecution was trying to pull a fast one, hopefully this will not just get thrown out. What a tragedy that would be! :(

Sturgill hasn't gone into facts of the case. He's mostly talking about jury duty and apologizes that this trial is so close to a holiday.
