Trolling for victims I’d imagine.

I'm so very sorry to read this. No matter how many times we see this outcome, it never gets any easier. I'm relieved to see that he's in custody and hopefully charged now. I'm way behind this eve. My deepest sympathy to her family and all who knew and loved beautiful Kenzie. We form attachments to the victims here at WS. They kind of become family. She will never be forgotten. Thoughts and prayers for all.

This was the last thing #MacKenzieLueck posted on Facebook: a photo of her grandparents. Her grandmother Gerry, pictured right, passed away recently, and MacKenzie was attending her funeral the Saturday before she went missing.

I hope she’s buried near her Grandmother. So sad.

Now I’m in tears again. Can’t stop thinking about her family.

It's too much to process. They just lost their mother/grandmother and now their only daughter. It's too much.

@yellowmoose, I hate to even ask this since it is really trivial in the overall scheme of the horror of this crime and the pain that Kenzie's family is going to endure every day for the rest of their lives, but do you by any chance know if Kenzie's cat has been taken in by someone? I could tell from her social media that she loved her cat (and animals in general). I hope her cat has a caretaker. Animals have feelings, too, and they know when their owners are gone.

OT but I know my friend would come get my dog & cat if something happened to me, or I was missing or in hospital. She has a key for this kind of emergency...

I live quite close to where Kenzie's family lives. I so would like to bring flowers to them, anything....though nothing could possibly bring them solace. Ofcourse I can't do anything like that at this horrible time. I feel so heartbroken for them. It's appalling that newspeople are hovering around .
My thoughts are with them, as are the prayers and thoughts of so many.

I’m thinking of the victim in that assault case. I’m sure that tonight she is feeling horrible for not pressing charges against him, because maybe he would have been in jail still.

I hope that she is ok and isn’t blaming herself in any way.

Maybe not...sometimes bad people don't go to jail. She definitely should not blame herself.

  • #509
Do we have any further details about why her friend warned her about him, other than that he or she did?

  • #510
Maybe I'm off base but the whole thing about the cameras in the house and his own "modeling career" (not to mention the suspicious "like" from her IG account to a 🤬🤬🤬🤬 account) gives me the impression that he thought of himself as an amateur pornographer. Didn't someone also mention women coming and going from his place? I get the feeling that his objectification of women through 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 escalated to dehumanization, aggrieved entitlement, and eventually murder. Not shred of doubt in my mind that there are other women out there who know about this guy.

I hope so. Or one of her friends. This happened in the Watts case. He murdered his family, but not the dog and Shan'ann's brother took in the dog. Small comfort compared with the enormity of the loss, but I think it meant a lot to the family to have the dog. I hope Kenzie's cat is being cared for.
Well now that’s making me sad all over again I remember jaymes little dog ...

I think Kenzie is wrapped in her Grandmother's arms right now.

It's not trivial. My son's dog came to live with me less than 24 hours later and I know that mattered to my son. I bet/hope that her family has her kitty.
I do not think it's trivial either. All who knew Kenzie said her beloved kitty Nova was her best friend. She'd want her taken care of & well loved.
& as a (former) parent to a beloved fur baby kitty: I'd want my gato taken care of & spoken for too.....(gato passed away at 15 years other year: still guts me)
I have no doubt, either, that those who love Kenzie have taken care of Nova
Thanks for having guts to ask - it does seem 'trivial' - but knowing how Kenzie loved Nova - and for all of us parents to fur babies: it's not trivial!

Dear Kenzie - I didn't know you personally, but I will always remember your Precious Spirit in my heart.

You Shine, Dearest Kenzie.

Your Spirit has not been diminished one iota. You will always Shine.

You Will Always Shine.

I’ve talked to several of #MackenzieLueck’s sorority sisters and friends tonight. You can imagine, they are devastated. They describe McKenzie as an outgoing, bubbly person who everybody loved.

Apologies if this has been addressed, I've been hopping in and out of here most of the day. Has there been a mention of any possible way of knowing a time/day of death?
Not specifically, however neighbors noted the backyard fire I believe as early as Monday the 17th, so it would be very shortly after she entered his vehicle in Hatch Park.

If you didn't let her out of your car as the Lyft driver....that's basically like kidnapping.
Preventing someone from leaving would be kidnapping.
ML should be alive.
ML as an adult, is allowed to live her life as she wanted. This is in no way her fault. She consented to meeting him. She never consented to be killed, burned and dismembered. This is on him. Not her or her lifestyle or her meeting him at the park or anything.

This was a quote from this news article from earlier, although I think it’s since been redacted.

"His neighbors told detectives they had observed Ajayi on June 17 and 18 burning something in his backyard. Police recovered several charred items, including body parts and personal items belonging to Lueck."

Missing University of Utah student was murdered, police say

Did he cut her up to make her easier to burn?

He had to subdue her from the moment she got in the car otherwise how did he get her in the house and control of her phone, unless she was totally clueless which I doubt because of the time her phone communication stopped.
Excellent point.
