On her FB page there was a memorial announcement for her grandmother's death. Mackenzie wrote to her grandmother that she will "see you in a life time". Her lifetime should have been 70+ years. So heartbreaking for her family and friends. RIP sweet girl.

They said he was from Nigeria I believe.
Do we know what year he came here, what age he was? Was he young enough to be adopted, or did he come as an adult?

Anyone know this?

Also interesting that they have taken TWO people into custody. My more familiar with LE friends on this thread, is there a specific reason they would send a SWAT team to get these two as opposed to some regular officers?
My guess is b/c of the ammo that was found in the homeowner’s garage.

It's mind-blowing to me that he really did burn her in his own yard. I wondered about it when news of the fires first came out, but thought surely no one could be dumb enough to do that in a neighborhood with other people so close by. Was this guy really just that stupid, or did he want to get caught? I hate to think of what he could've done to her. I also wonder if he'll be the type who wants to tell everything that happened, or if he will shut down and not tell anymore info than he has to. He almost seems like someone who might be proud of what he has done...
If the IT "expert" had thought to shut off his own phone then he likely would still be free. He is full of all kinds of dumb.

I noticed he was looking right at the camera in several of his arrest photos... IMO, that jives with your sense that he might be "proud" of what he did, and craving attention to the point that he'll need to talk about it...

Now we can all agree that you don't have to be faniced up to go to a hook up arrangement, and that yes sometimes when people write books about fantasy murder, they do in fact commit that murder,

not only that, but i guess the Lyft driver is getting "crushed" as some are calling it over on Twitter as well
For dropping her off in the park? As a Mom rideshare driver no way in hell would I drop that young girl off at a park at night. Perp probably told her there were cameras there knowing they were fake and police station near and to not worry. She might have googled to see it was around the corner and her fears were lessened

when it was published last August, a number of people on Goodreads said they won it in a giveaway in exchange for an honest review. With the charges now, i really really really hope the original copies that these people received don't become murderabilia. Everyone who received one should trash it.

I imagine they were probably digital books. I’m not exactly sure how it works though.

Regardless, that won’t happen here.

This isn’t some prolific high profile serial killer like Bundy or Gacy, this is a lowlife moron who killed an innocent young woman.

Winning that book in a contest, is the equivalent of winning a lifetime supply of garbage.

What a disappointment.

Investigators said they were able to identify Ajayi as the individual who met Lueck at Hatch Park on Monday, June 17 at 3 a.m. She had been dropped off at the location by a Lyft driver who picked her up at the Salt Lake International Airport.

Chief Brown said Ajayi’s call phone pinged at the same location just a minute apart from Lueck’s phone. It was at the same time and location where police said Lueck’s cell phone stopped sending data or location services.

After questioning, officials said the suspect admitted to having text conversations with Lueck, but said his last conversation was before she flew back from California, where she had gone for the funeral of her grandmother.

Chief Brown said Ajayi denied any personal contact, and told investigators he didn’t know what Lueck looked like, despite police finding having several photos of her in his possession.

Neighbors of told police they witnessed a large fire in Ajayi’s backyard on June 17 and 18.

I am actually somewhat shocked that he burned her in his yard. I really thought he was burning her luggage, clothes and other evidence. With all the houses being so close it's pretty gutsy to try to dispose of a body in that manner in that area but that further proves the narcissism that he is displaying.

Did you pay 99 cents or the newly inflated price posted upthread of 9.99? and who controls that? Please tell me he is not going to profit from this now???

I won't be surprised if he writes another book about what happened to Kenzie

If the IT "expert" had thought to shut off his own phone then he likely would still be free. He is full of all kinds of dumb.
I saw in a recent article that although he "sporadically" took classes since 2009 at UT, he never declared a major or graduated. Doesn't mean he's dumb (he arguably is!) but for sure means that a lot of what was on his LinkedIn age was a lie...

I have Kindle unlimited, so I didn’t pay for it.

The author is paid based on how much you actually read. Some rough math, would put the amount at about half a cent.

Does Utah have the law where you can't profit from a crime?

I saw he came over to be an international student, not sure what age.

Pommy, I gotta be honest. I made it through like two chapters.

It’s genuinely the worst thing I’ve ever read.

Not only did he not have someone edit it, but I’m convinced even he didn’t read what he wrote.

God bless anyone who reads this thing.

What do you think got more stars, his book or his Airbnb?

I'll be honest and say I'm suspicious that his respiratory issues pop up when authorities (like military or LE) make demands of him that he doesn't want to do.

Yes, I know respiratory issues exist and stress can trigger them.....that doesn't stop me from thinking this particular perp fakes them to get authorities off his back, to weasel out of things he doesn't want to be happening. In other words, he's a manipulator.

If he was using accelerants on that fire - he could have burned his lungs a bit - but he had many days to recover from that IMO. I think he was faking JMO

Did the person arrested with AA today help in any way with Kenzies kidnapping, murder, or desecration of her body?
