ETA: WAIT! Don't LDS temples mail out "stake maps" or "ward maps" or something? A map of the church's local area, with all the parishoner's residences highlighted, like for disater preparedness or programs that take place outside the church? Any Mormons here?

The church members that live in a specific area are given a "Ward Directory" upon request but it only has the head of the household listed, NO MINOR names are shown. It also states that this is "For Church Use Only" HTH

It has been said he was not a member of the church but had gone to some of the activites in the past.

So the previous post is not accurate. I understand reading quickly, but we need to quote accurately as IMO this fuels the already burning fire. Which BTW it completely appropriate! :furious: Just makes me sick!

I decided to try it on mine. I noticed some loose screws and tightened those first. I lifted up on the handle and kept jiggling up and down and it moved the lever almost to the unlocked position. I was amazed. I bet it would have opened prior to me tightening it. It is so hot inside tonight. 80 degrees inside the house and I don't want all the windows open. Ugghhh.

You can make it secure by placing a length of dowel in the door frame to block where it would slide to.

Pretty scary! One of the (few) things I like about living in an apt is there's only 1 entrance to secure. If you have any freinds who are vol. FF/EMS or LE
ask them about kicking in doors. When I was an EMT I saw my co-worker Katie, who was 4'11 and 95 LBS kick in a door with 4 kicks near the keyhole.
On very old doors the lumber is dry and brittle and the lock may be worn out, and on newer doors they use more drywall and less lumber, and most modern locksets are cheaper. everyone ought to have a burgular bar for their front door, IMO.

There have been a handful here that have really gotten to me: Elizabeth Smart, obviously; Susan Powell, obviously; and this poor, little Sierra. The other two have been Ethan Stacy (that poor boy - and his poor father), and Kristy Ragsdale. For one reason or another - because of the notoriety, or just demographics of the victim - these are the ones I always think about.

Fortunately, we've seen justice on two of these. We should still see justice on two. On the last one, justice is impossible. That one (Susan) will haunt many of us for the rest of our lives. Maybe they'll someday find her body, so the family can at least have closure. Justice, on the other hand - that will have to come from a higher power.

Oh little Ethan Stacey. Bless his little heart. How he suffered! That Sloop is evil. I had to pull back from Websleuths for about a month after little Ethans case. The pictures his mom took of his black and blue face and did nothing!!!

This creep is not smart or sophisticated. He is an opportunistic piece of $>€£ that got lucky jiggling a sliding glass door. Sierra's body was found within 1/2 hour. Isabelle's body has been missing for months. Black is not that smart or sophisticated, I don't think he is related to Isabelle's disappearance. IMO.
ETA: I am hopeful however, that they'll nail the SOB for Rosie Tapia, because that luck and stupidity IS his MO.
