Not sure if this has been discussed already (I skipped a page here or there), but have her sisters said anything or commented in any way? I feel as though they might be the ones who know most about Josh and Susan's marriage and/or financial problem.

IIRC a family member did say that Josh and Susan lived like 'room mates' and not like husband and wife.
Wish I could find the link.
I felt that was an 'OH NO" moment.
Poor Susan, my heart aches for her and her children.
Where they both raised in the Mormon faith all their lives?

and omegagal all people of any religion can snap.............
do not ever think we at WS would classify Josh just because he is Mormon.
I for 1 know nothing about the faith except what I read.
I learned allot reading about Lori Hacking.
Another sweet gal, with a husband that was mental.
Her poor family, this is what I am thinking now about Susan.
I love your input to understand the customs.

Regarding a special nightgown.. I think you mean the special clothing a Mormon wears, which is not a nightgown, it's undergarments.

Regarding the psychological profile of Josh's.. IMHO... Josh is a known control freak and an emotional abuser. These are the worst kind. Similar to SP and MH. Mark Hacking also being Mormon. The profile of a Mormon male with abusive behavior... Narcissistic Personality Disorder or Malignant Narcissism ie Psychopathy. Seems this type cannot handle being "out of control". They must control every aspect of their lives. They do not have empathy for other people, are incapable of it. They feel completely entitled to their behavior and are a lot of times involved in sexual addictions ie 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 or prostitution. It numbs the ability to see people as anything other than objects. I do not believe that Josh had the money to pay for prostitutes though. He also would hate to see any "joy" in the lives of others around him... Susan. Look at her face. As hard as he has tried to take the joy out of her, she fought back. Got a decent job, was loved by her friends and family, she was "super Molly Mormon" and Josh was totally incompetent by comparison. He owned his wife and children (my boys miss her). If she was threatening to take the boys in the divorce, he would not allow that. These types are rarely brilliant though his downfall will be that he thinks he is invincible. Most likely caught up in the Mormon male story... the man has the priesthood and presides over his family. Some take that to mean, he owns his family like chattel. Susan was not "getting with the program" and was independent and capable. Not like the proper "Mormon wife" that should submit. You can add "Christian wife" there in the example for I mean any submissive, male dominated culture. IMHO, Josh killed his wife and in the back of his mind, it was planned. What wasn't planned is that the family was on to him right away and he did not expect that they would be looking for her right away. He thought he had time Monday to come up with the missing person story. I think they are incredibly poor liars and care very much what other people think of them. I believe LE will have an expert involved in this case that understands how to work a psychopath. You have to feed into their ego. This is how they were able to arrest OJ Simpson. I feel for Susan's family. She was probably so embarrassed and humiliated that she didn't tell her family very much about the abuse. I think she had only recently (September) started telling her church family what was going on in her home. She was starting to get emotional support from them and Josh saw his control falling apart. I think LE will be interviewing her church leadership and close friends and neighbors to get into the head of such an evil human being. The family of Josh's will probably be instrumental (like Mark Hacking) to get him to confess. I can just see it now... them telling him he will be the "hero" if he admits to what happened and they will always "adulate" him for having finally admitted what happened. Sick, sick, sick. I feel so bad that Susan felt she had to hide this ongoing abuse for as long as she did. Being a Utah Mormon means hiding the ugly truth. The pressure to appear to be the perfect, uprighteous Mormon family and hide the truth may have been her downfall. The culture is so demanding to be the perfect family and hide the abuse and mental problems. So sad...

Do you know this family?

I think this case is like the Chris Coleman case in this respect: we sit and wait for days and days to see the arrest come to fruition.

Sorry they need the time of disappearence.........
we have no official timeline yet, do we?
Just our thoughts.......

Yes, date and time of disappearance is needed, but
what else is very important is date and time the missing persons report
was filed.
And Abraham's dob and place of birth, as well as other major people in his life.

If we find anything, please take it to the forensic astrology thread in case requests, please.

May I ask who is Abraham? I am lost on that name.

I simply classified what his religion represents to him and the culture. It's not pro or against Mormonism, simply the culture. I think I also added that this could happen in any "Christian" culture. Though I am aware of Muslim family abuse as well. I'm not sure where you would get the impression I wrote of anything else. Please do not read any more into what I've written...

I know there was one neighbor who said that whenever Susan came over their house, Josh soon followed. That's Control

A little OT but I knew someone once who every time she went somewhere, say to her mom's, her husband would call her, literally, about every 5 to 10 minutes. Ahhh, her mom said, he's so cute he can't stand to be apart from her..........ehhhh.,.................NOT so cute 8 years later when the daughter finally got the courage to leave the creep after he tried to strangle her and bite off her face!

Back on the subject, the same neighbor also said Susan had said if things weren't better by Spring, she was going to seek a divorce.

You're right though. Her sisters may know much more about Susan's marriage.

The more I watch Josh's interviews, the more fake I believe he is.

FWIW, I decided he most likely was responsible for Susan's disappearance by about the fifth post on this thread. I guess I'm biased by all the cases I've seen on the pages of Websleuths. :(

I was agreeing with you about this............meaning it could happen to anyone, and any husband in any culture.
Sorry if it sounded different.
I have been there in the situation with a Catholic X husband.

I would also like to add that for every (Utah Mormon) abusive nut out there, there is an additional 100 wonderful, caring, compassionate Utahians that will volunteer their time, energy and money to work this case until they find Susan.

I should've checked Google Maps... I wonder if he did before his deed.

Of course, he may not have even gone camping at all.

What if he remained in the area in one of the town's vacant homes, and maybe left the kids there while he disposed of the remains.

The generator thing keeps making me think that.

Did he have enough fuel to power it in the woods? Did he bring enough fuel to have the generator running for so long?

Yeah, the generator gets me. He can't safely run anything with it unless he had a cabin or another house to access.

Creepy idea though when you wonder if he ran any tools with it. KWIM?

Passionflower - It's easy when someone is only writing communication to not get the entire meaning of the message... didn't want to get off topic but yes, it's difficult to say what you mean and mean what you say sometimes....

The minute my husband saw Josh's 1st interview on TV, he said 'that guy killed his wife'.
My jaw dropped and then I came here and started researching and he is right.
Now Josh better prove what he did.
I think LE might be arresting him without a body.
I think Josh's family KNEW he was dangerous,
his sister called LE so fast that the family was missing.
That poor family........both sides and the babies!

"They've had problems for a very long time and that's very obvious when you spend a short time with them, you can tell...they're roommates," said Tim Peterson, a friend of the Powells.
