In lower third of article Josh's BIL states that they are staying with he and his wife.

Thank you! I had heard before that "the boys" (Josh & Susan's sons) were staying with them, so reading in "scan mode" as I was, did *not* catch that Josh was also staying there. That is news to me.

Thanks again.

P.S. Thanks also to you, Dr. Fessel!

I keep thinking that way too but the sledding trip and taking the boys to eat are big red flags to me also.

I wonder if he could have gotten rid of the body during the sledding trip, came home to clean up the place and panic set in and left the house never planning on coming back.

I know it is subjective but he sure looks haunted in this picture.

Susan Powell's friend, Kiirsi Hellewell, said she saw her Sunday afternoon walking home from church, which Josh Powell did not attend. JoVonna Owings said she had dinner with the couple and their children around 4 p.m. and that Susan Powell was wearing a long-sleeve black shirt and black pants.

I agree that those are red flags, also, that's why I am confused as to exactly what I believe. I would like to know if he took more clothes and such with them then would be expected for just an overnight camping trip.

Also, I think he looks more haunted in picture #4. He's looking down, almost as if he is zoned out, and looks to be thinking .. 'How much longer can I get by with this?'

IMO

I wonder to if the wet spot is from her getting sick from the earache, control freaks hate vomit and illness. They have no control over them.

Josh saying he had to buy the new quilt and clothes makes me wonder if the police took all his clothes? The one article said they took some furniture from the house too.

I would like to hear more from the woman who ate dinner with them. How did Susan and Josh act towards each other; friendly, angry, quiet, etc.? Did Susan get up in the middle of dinner to go lie down, before, or right after? How did Josh react to Susan feeling ill and wanting to lie down?

I can understand you taking the boys out to sled and give mom some rest if she isn't feeling well, but to also eat again? That seems hinky to me.

Dr.Fessel said:
Joshua Powell is not considered a suspect or person of interest, McLachlan said, though police are expected to speak with him again.

Oh PLEASE tell me that's just LE's attempt to throw him off!

I'm thinking more along the lines of LE taking the original quilt on the bed for testing, since he claims she was in bed when he left. This guy seems to be a moron but would he really let the neighbor know he had to buy a new quilt and clothes if he KNEW the reason the quilt and clothes were missing were because they had evidence on them or Susan was wrapped up in the blanket? Surely he knew it would get out that he said that but maybe I am wrong.

I think he is haunted.
From all accounts he was active LDS.
He knows what he did was wrong!
I'm sure it is eating at him big time.

I hope with all hope that his family and friends are trying to convince
him to do the right think like Mark Hacking's family did with him.

Oh how I would love to hear the voice in his head!
You can almost read his thoughts in his pictures!

As long as Josh was sharing...maybe he should have said he needs a new bed, new carpeting for the bedroom, the list goes on. :snooty:

If he definitely killed his wife in the heat of the moment (and I'm sorry to think negatively, but the situation is just not looking promising) I wonder if he not only fears the consequences of his actions, but if he also feels guilt, pain, anger (at himself) and grief. Not that I feel sorry for him if he's guilty, I don't. But I do wonder.

I agree....What he has done is eating him from the inside out as it should...I wonder when LE finally gets a hold of him if he will confess. Looking at his picture it is only a matter of time.

I think he killed her in the heat of the moment too. Given the statements of his controlling behavior I'm sure he just lost it..... :(

He doesn't strike me as the type to have planned this out, he's cruising on the seat of his pants and it shows in his interviews....jmo

"The police are still investigating the case. According to the police, Joshua Powell is not a suspect in the case."

I still can't get over this. Can anyone more familiar with LE techniques tell us if this might actually be true of if it's some sort of tactic to gain his trust and keep him from splitting?

Well they said that Chris Coleman was not a suspect in his wife's murder and the following day they arrested him. It is a tactic I believe to keep the suspect comfortable so they won't do something drastic, like leave or hurt themselves..etc

The police have learned the hard way naming a person a suspect or a POI can result in some heavy lawsuits if wrong. They rarely use the terms anymore unless they are getting ready to arrest them.

You know, that's something I'd never connected before, but I think you have something there. I can think of three people with control issues that I think have odd reactions to vomit.

One of them was furious with his nephew (8 yrs. old) who threw up at his house when visiting over the holidays one year and was unable to make it to the bathroom before it happened. Thankfully, this person never had children himself!

Another person regularly carried Ozium and cedar chips* in his vehicle -- just in case! -- after someone on a roadtrip had an accident one time!

The third person cannot even stomach the "words" throw-up, vomit, puke, hurl, etc., nor any depiction thereof on TV, etc. She becomes furious if someone causes her to so much as think of these things.

At least two of these (1st & 3rd examples) have anger reactions. The 2nd example just went above & beyond to be prepared, I guess!

* Oh, and the all-important barf bag, I should add!
