Found Deceased UT - Verna Marriott, 79, Ogden, 22 Dec 2017

Ogden police are looking for a missing 79-year-old woman who has dementia and may be disoriented.

Verna Marriott wandered from her home near 29th Street and Washington Boulevard before dawn Friday, Dec. 29, police said in a Facebook post.

She was not dressed for the cold and left her wallet at home, a neighbor told the Standard-Examiner.

Police and firefighters have been searching the area but had not found her as of 4:15 p.m., police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Weber Dispatch at 801-395-8221.

She is believed to have wandered from her home at 428 29th Street in Ogden, sometime between 2:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. this morning.

Marriott uses a walker and her caretaker believes she wasn't wearing shoes.

Police believe Verna Marriott wandered away from her residence, at 428 29th, before dawn. She may have left without shoes.

Ogden Police and Fire Department officials have been conducting extensive searches of the surrounding area, but have not located her.

On December 23, 2017 at 0958 hours, Ogden City Police received a report of a female lying in the snow along a residence in the 700 block of 28th St. Officers responded and found that the individual was deceased with an unknown time of death. Officers recognized the individual from previous accounts along with photos as Verna Marriott, a 79 year old female who had gone missing on the 22nd of December in the early morning hours.
