We are just assuming the person in custody is a man, right?

Considering the suspect was charged with just abduction it sounds like she is still alive. Just IMO from going off the only facts we have right now.

I want a name dammit.

I had a feeling something was gonna happen too. Like I said before something was already up that I just didn't see how the FBI just on the case so fast unless because of "Family connections" .. To me that meant someone in her family, jmo. A lot of people thought by that they meant a family member was part of the FBI, but even then the FBI has certain protocols and steps they have to take in order to take on a case unless of course this was already part of a crime. IMO her car was just too close to her grandmas house to my liking. Of course these are just are my opinion. I'm honestly sick to my stomach. All we can do know is pray,pray,pray..

I think it means they have no evidence yet to say otherwise. But if is alive, why wasn't she with her abductor?

Unfortunately, it sounds more like she isn't alive from the looks of where they are searching. I hope I'm wrong. The kidnapping charge is probably just to hold him until they can find her one way or the other.

Okay, I stopped freaking out and read the FBI press release carefully. Like others pointed out, "charged with abduction" means that AM may be alive. Right now, there's hope.

Could be tied up somewhere or in an underground bunker or something

Completely agree, sick to stomach - same here.

Or they could have one suspect out of many

I would think.. sadly, that unless they have evidence or a confession that she is deceased that they couldn't charge him/her with a murder until they find her. I am hoping with all hopes that they find her alive.

I pray she is still alive, but just because they only arrested him for abduction doesn't necessarily mean she's still alive. If they have no proof of her whereabouts whether she's alive or dead they can still only arrest him for abduction because they may have proof of that, just nothing else. They can't arrest you without proof for a specific crime.

That's why I said I'm going off the only facts we have at the time ;)

I'm just not ready to leap that it is connected to a family member. The FBI can't assume jurisdiction for that purpose either.

After two of the articles on this website posted today, I think we have a Websleuths reader on the staff!
http://www.insidenova.com/news/crim...cle_252d9606-02de-11e3-ae2e-0019bb2963f4.html

Okay. I'm so confused right now. So are they saying her and Morgans case our the same person possibly, or are they just showing a sketch of MH killer. Why would they put it on the same page/article.? If that is the case right now, that's possible why the FBI jumped on it so quickly. JMO. Can someone elaborate?

is there any way to look up today's arrests in that area?

I was with you for a while about not thinking it was family, but as this story progresses, I really just don't know. I do find that "family connection" comment curious. It hasn't ever been clarified. Now, there's a possibility that they may have a family member with a criminal record or listed as a RSF who has made threats in the past. But, we just don't know. There are so many wild cards in this it's insane.

Her family made the announcement an arrest had been made? This is quite unusual isn't it? As strong as the FBI is, it seems out of character they would permit such a thing. There must be a strong reason behind it! The family was not immediately informed her car had been found; they found out from Facebook and telephone calls before officially informed. So a complete
turnaround in the way information is being passed along.

So glad the monster was arrested!! Perhaps they did not release identifying info as there is another person involved and LE does not want to alert him.
