Here's what I think: there are very documented sightings of Amy that have been verified. I think it's worth noting those locations (as near & close as possible) and then say go out about a mile radius to note all companies or larger scale groups in that area, then compare the locations against the companies and/or buildings to see if there's maybe a common denominator...

In the meantime I'm still investigating the many many many llcs.

A young woman disappears and later her pics show up on the internet

That is extremely bold of someone
And I imagine the conditions are deplorable, frightening
I imagine her being terrified

But I don't get the pics being used for humiliation or control
being held against your will in these conditions would be more than humiliating and she has no control

I highly doubt she would be ashamed, she is not responsible for her situation

She has most likely been forced to do things that anyone would be ashamed of, even though it wasn't her fault at all. Rape victims often speak of feeling ashamed, even though they are a victim in the situation.

With the pictures, her captors could have told her "look at these. Now your family thinks you are a prostitute now. No one is going to look for you because they think you're just a hooker." That's what we mean by them using the photos to humiliate her.

Also, it could be used to throw her family and searchers off track. To try to make them think she was abducted to be a prostitute, (or that she left on her own to be one), when in reality, she is miles away doing...well, doing something else.

Prostitution is legal in the Caribbean. It would be incredibly risky to kidnap an American from a cruise ship and use her as a prostitute- why take the risk when there are plenty of women who are wiling to be prostitutes? Also, being a prostitute or an escort requires a woman to be alone with a man. Amy most likely would have asked for help at that time. Again, it's a big risk for very little reward.

We've thrown around some ideas as to why Amy may have been taken.

Also, Amy has (or had at the time) a kind of clean-cut, All-American look. Perhaps they needed someone who looked trustworthy to help abduct other women or children. Or to sneak items through customs in other countries. It is also possible that they abducted her for her computer skills. I believe she studied computer science in school. Maybe she mentioned this to someone like Allistair Douglas, or maybe someone simply overheard her tell another passenger about it. There are lots of reasons they could have taken her. And she may have been used for more than one purpose.

I can find nothing about San Francisco anywhere on this or the FBI or America's Most Wanted website. Not saying I doubt it, just want official verification I guess. I know it has been stated. It's just so shocking she could have made it to SF without being caught!

Folks, again I'll ask you to steer clear of the Scientology angle. It was thoroughly investigated after Amy's disappearance and it was determined that Scientologyists had nothing to do with it.

If WS thought for one minute there would be something gained by going down this avenue, we'd cut you loose.

According to Iva someone on the ship 'saw Amy wanted Amy and took Amy' i.e. this all happened on the ship. I think we should keep open the possibility the plot originated in the U.S. before she got on the ship.

Hence her reluctance to take the ship which her family and others found strange (important that it is not just me or others sleuthers who find it strange.) Isn't it just possible she was afraid of someone or that she had had some uncanny experiences (say of seeing the same person or persons again and again or having her belongings messed with in some inconsequential way) that she couldn't share without sounding paranoid.

It is interesting to me how little we have heard about Amy before the boat trip we hear just the highlights scholarship etc. and then again just enough (her new dog etc.) to keep us from thinking she ran away. "All-American girl" pretty well shuts down the conversation it is just a stereo-type.

Just a thought experiment what changes if we think Amy was afraid to go on the trip due to some defined or undefined danger? In some photos she looks troubled. I know it is just a photo but if you can use a photo to say she looks happy you can use it to say she looks troubled.

Yes, I understand where you are going and I have done that thought experiment a few times over the last few weeks (but only shared it with myself..lol).

So here are some of the ideas that came out of my thought process experiment (Amy's initial reluctance/excitement about going on the cruise):

1. Would a daily habit of any sort be interrupted while on the cruise

2. Hesitant to leave boyfriend for that period of time

3. Hesitancy to be on same ship with someone she perhaps knew from her father's work (Dad's work associates were going on the same cruise)

4. True fear of being on the ocean and out of sight of land

5. Did not want to leave her new apartment for that length of time

6. Fear of flying to reach the starting point of the cruise

If I remember any more, I will post them.

I've just posted about the Scientology angle. We have no allegiance whatsoever to Scientology, but it isn't fair to a group to sleuth them if we can't tie them to a case. Although Amy was seen talking to Scientologists on the cruise ship and the Bradleys' were visited by Scientologists after Amy's disappearance, this is as far as their involvement went from what I understand about the investigation. My confirmation on this came directly from the Bradley family and I'm sure if they thought there was any connection whatsoever, they wouldn't have told me otherwise.

We've also asked that members don't pursue the "overboard" theory based on people seeing Amy on the ship after she was seen by her father on the balcony. There have also been credible sightings of Amy over the years since her disappearance, so the likihood that she went overboard isn't feasible.

We've also asked that our members not mention the possibility of children, regardless of their parentage. There is no confirmation that Amy has had any children and if she has, it should be obvious to everyone why we would not want that subject discussed. In addition, I notice the mention of children to some of the people we are sleuthing. If you use this information in your sleuthing, fine, please don't post about it here. WS has a policy across the board about mentioning children unless they are victims and/or accused of a crime.

I hope this clears up the sleuthing parameters for this case (subject to add more if needed).

As for links, we caution all of our members to be selective in the links you click on and websites you visit, especially in this case. Please make sure you have a strong firewall and pop-up blockers in place.
