I had never heard of this book about human trafficking. The website is to promote the author's book, which is fiction btw. What is interesting is that he does profile Amy on his website, as well as Rebecca Coriam, Dana Rishpy and Natalee Holloway. There are also some informative stats on human trafficking.

I went on amazon.com to buy this book, then got sidetracked and was checking out a movie about human trafficking, "Taken", with Liam Neeson, which I realized I had already seen. What I found interesting though was the first customer review of the movie, by W. Wood. He is discussing a real life experience having to do with a white slavery ring in Germany back in the 70's. The part about the police and Interpol leaving the girls in captivity while they gather intelligence so they could get to the ringleaders is what really caught my attention.

When I was a soldier stationed in Germany in the 1970s there was a raid on a Turkish-owned bar on the outskirts of Frankfurt A/M. German Polizei and US CID (US Army Criminal Investigation Division) broke up a white slavery ring that had been operating out of the bar for some time. The bar was a way-point in the transportation route of young European girls (preferably blonde) who had been kidnapped throughout Europe and were being smuggled to be sold in the harems and brothels of the Middle and Far East. The police found some twenty girls in the basement of the bar, some from as far away as Denmark and the Netherlands, waiting to be shipped further down the pipeline.

The German police and Interpol had been watching the bar for some time and were hoping to trace the route farther down the track to take down the ringleaders. The white slavers made the mistake of kidnapping the daughter of a US Army colonel whom they thought was a German national. The Colonel learned about the investigation and refused to allow his daughter to be held by the white slavers and victimized so the police could gather intelligence. As it turned out, I learned later, the raid eventually did lead to the disruption of this particular ring because the guys busted talked.

I know, I was wondering if this is anything similar to what has happened in Amy's case, with the threats, possibly even phone calls to her family to try and get them to stop searching for her.

IMO, it would make sense of so many things
her fear of running , her fear of screaming for help....

This case is more than frustrating, almost agonizing, if I sit and think about it for a while, especially times like now when I cannot sleep.
To even imagine being Amy's parents and what they have been through and are still going through is, well, something I can't even imagine.
The Bradley's seem to be very strong people. Obviously where Amy got her strong constitution from. I hope and pray she has endured and is still okay.

I think I really see now..... that to keep Amy safe is the first and most important thing, regardless of where she is or what she's doing. Yes, we all, her family, everyone, wants more than anything for her to be freed from a brutally painful existence she never would have chosen for herself. We want her to be safely back home with her family. We want her to have the freedom to live out her dreams and aspirations, to live the life she was working for and always wanted.

I just wish there was something we could do other than feel so helpless.

a lot of the passport issues etc are post 9/11 Amy disappeared prior to that and things were pretty lax (sp) at that time. I have to wonder IF she was told she could go with crew members, who more than likely were part of the organized crime ring in the Caribbean, told her they could get her off, go jet skiing, watch the ship dock and then get back on before she was to go for breakfast. Yellow was definitely involved, apparently he must have been somewhat charming. These cruise ships dock in these ports regularly and I'm quite sure have friends on all the islands they stop at. I'm beginning to think Amy's disappearance, while planned way in advance, wasn't planned specifically for her. Yes, she was targeted but I suspect those involved where told in advance what kind of female to look for and they literally lucked out. Ron and Iva said they didn't like the attention Amy was getting. Perhaps she wasn't the only one getting the attention but she was the one who took the bait. She clearly had a rebel streak in her and that lead to her sense of adventure. She was more than likely assured there wouldn't be a problem getting back on the ship because she would be with other crew members.Someone asked if she had a bathing suit. Have no idea but I don't think anyone ever asked the Bradleys that question or if they would even know the answer.

Your post was respectively snipped. I agree. I also think the coffee that Alister D. provided may have been drugged that morning around 5:30-6:00 a.m. before it was given to Amy.

I have mentioned it before. I have no doubt that Amy is under the threat of her family being harmed. The reason she is unable to escape. That is what am convinced keeps Amy there. She has had chances to leave. That is why its so important when traveling to look for Amy Bradley. WE need to help her!

is there proof that this bed is specifically made in the Caribbean and rare? So that if we did find one fitting it's description on the internet it would help lead us to where Amy's pictures were taken? Or is it just a iron rail bed that could be sold all over the world. Sorry I've just never understood the quest for the bed.

same here. if we could find pics of one of the rooms in the hotel that burned down we could at least eliminate it as the location. at this point, without pics, it's my most likely guess since it's the only place she's been seen that has beds.

I read all of thread #1 for Amy and then I made an account to keep up and post on #2. I let it go to the backburner now and I've got all these pages to read haha oh my. I left at page 11 on this thread, so 56 more to go!... just wanted to check in introduce myself I guess. I'll be back after I get caught up. I first heard about Amy after seeing her "Vanished" episode earlier this summer. I watch a lot of true life crime shows like that but nothing has caught my heart or attention the way Amy's story has. I've been thinking about her, researching her, and spreading the word about her since I learned her story.

This website has been a great way to learn more and I really just want to see Amy found. I feel so frustrated because we know she's alive out there but there's so many unanswered questions, and only so much we can do right now. Then I think of her family and how they are feeling the same thing, just so much MORE. I hope not even for my own satisfaction that Amy is returned, but for her family. Can't imagine being in their shoes but I hope to help them any little way I can even if it's just spreading the word. Keep on keeping on people! I love how active this discussion is about her. I'll get caught up asap.

I would like to know who the photographer was. He's the one that was responsible for photographing people. There may be more than one photographer (I've never been on a cruise ship and have no desire to), but specifically, the one who took the photos of Amy and her family. As well, is he the same man who when questioned had no idea what happened to the photos of Amy. Someone had to remove the photos from his possession. Is there no video of that area of the ship? And, why were the photos never reprinted as promised to the Bradley's? :waitasec: A ships photographer would be the perfect "scout"....along with the wait staff.

RSBM I have only been on one cruise (btw LOVED it) and there were a few photographers on board. There were a few "stations" set up before boarding and in a designated area on the ship. We did a Carnival Cruise (can't remember the name of the ship), and pictures were taken prior to boarding and also next to the piano bar, which was in the same room as the info desk, which was across the room from the elevators (piano bar backed up to the elevator). I would say that there was more than just one photographer on the ship, so the location and time of the family photo would be helpful.
