As to who called the police....I would imagine the homeowner reported that someone ransacked their home! Might not have even been a tip to LE about the jacket. At this point, who knows!
Now, if we didn't have all the past history on the one person, then I 'might' could see a parent thinking LE wasn't doing enough to find their child, and taking things into their own hands. We've seen that in other cases, but not to this extreme. In the recent case of Hannah that was missing, her Dad lived in another state, truly didn't believe she would run away, hired a PI, was questioning LE, and being very front and center to demand something more to be done to find his daughter! Luckily in that case, it was a run away, and she was safe and came home.
If I truly suspected someone had my child, and LE wasn't investigating it or didn't appear to be, and I wasn't getting progress, I'd go over someone's head, and be at their office daily and on the phone daily until someone heard me. If that didn't work, and media coverage wasn't working, I might protest outside that person's home, or follow them, or investigate them myself. Thinking of Molly Miller, and Colt Haynes who STILL haven't been found. Yes, I would make myself known to everyone. And I might even be brave enough to go knock on their door and ask questions myself. BUT, I don't have a criminal history, or violent history.
This entire case just breaks my heart. Too much drama for kids to be around. Too much past to overlook and 'give a second chance' when it looks like they've had chance after chance after chance and haven't changed.
I would NOT want a person with this history around my kids, and would not be having kids with him. But it's possible that no one knew his history until now. What a shock to everyone if that's true.
Oh please AJ, I hope you just got fed up with the entire thing, and went into a safe haven somewhere!!! It would be the bestest outcome!!!
Though my heart tells me otherwise, I want to cling to that tiny bit of hope.
