I know that she is probably unlikely because of the amount of time that passed between Mary Jo Thompson's disappearance (she went missing in 1980) and when the UID was found, but her height is close and she has the c-section scar and looks like she has curly reddish hair from her photo.

No updates from detective. But the family of JG doesn't think it's her.

Interesting. Why? If I were a bettin gal I'd put my money on this match.

I am truly truly surprised. Gosh darn it, where is that hat I said I,d eat!
Really surprised.
Thought it was Judith for sure.

This case is just never ever going to be solved. Maybe her family knows and wants to respect her wishes to remain anonymous as previously mentioned in this thread.

Well, just when one thinks there is a case matched...what a let down. Thanks for all you have done here astrixxx.

Let's not give up astridxx. You really came so close, the match was brilliant!
This does need to be solved. It's obvious she didn't want to be a bother, and felt that she was. Very tidy. Didn't want to leave a mess. Sense of humor by choice of tape, and sentimental. Practical choice in clothing. I'm thinking nurse or accounting by trade. Very orderly. Someone who was widowed, had endured heavy losses. Maybe she told acquaintainces she was moving, and then never considered missing. I think.this Christmas tree lady wanted to rejoin a loved one. The research and carrying out of the suicide was methodical and almost clinical. This is what makes me think of a nurse or medical professional.

Another exclusion was added, but I've not been keeping up with the list to know who was recently added.

Further, the fact that she had "DNR" tells me she had watched a loved one suffer, and did not want the same fate. That, or she was terminally ill. Again, "DNR" is a medical term and most people don't think of this unless they are in the medical field or have had a loved one with a terminal illness.

I think people whose loved ones are in the medical field also would think about a DNR, but that is just IMO.

I have a nursing background and many of my family members work in medicine. I agree with the DNR assessment of other posters. It was even more uncommon back in 1996 to be thinking about advanced directives. If she, by chance, did not have a terminal condition then I think it's a strong possibility that she worked in the healthcare field.

Also re. the "use my body as you choose" makes me think not of organ donation but of cadaver use for anatomy training. Another link to the healthcare field.

If anyone is in the area and wants to do a Ouija session with me, let me know ;)

Ok. I took a little breather on this after it was determined this wasn't Judith. That taught me a lot. I was so certain it was astridxx! Anyway, I wondering if that jewelry or those glasses can lead us anywhere? If there are serial or lot numbers or something that can help us tie them back to an origin of sorts. Same with the clothing. This woman was so tidy and thorough. I'm convinced she was in the medical field or accounting. Something analytical/precision. She obviously was disenfranchised and didn't want to bother anyone.
Was it shame, or truly feeling no one cared? How ironic if the latter were the case since we all care so much now. I want to give our Christmas tree lady back her name.

I'm very curious as to why she picked that cemetery. Was it random, or was there an attachment. My guess is that she came from a town far enough away that any local paper reporting her mysterious death wouldn't have picked it up. Perhaps she was from a large city where anonymity is easy enough.

I just can't forget this woman.

I am taking the LSAT this afternoon right across the street from Pleasant Valley Memorial Park.... It'll be hard to focus on the test knowing our Annandale JD hasn't been brought home yet!!!

Has anyone mentioned Kathryn Margaret VanDine?

http://pennsylvaniamissing.com/vandinekatherine.html

She disappeared in May 1995, so the timeline is off but not inconceivable. Plus, her husband had died shortly before she disappeared. That story is possible with our JD; that she was so sad she committed suicide..
