Eva Hale is interesting regarding our UID! She was last known to be at a cemetery and our UID committed suicide in a cemetery. I said all along that the PM photo and the recon both showed a woman older than 60 and I still think so, unless of course our UID led a lifestyle which would have caused premature aging.
I saw Eva Hale's profile somewhere the other day but didn't even think of the UID due to the age discrepancy, but age estimates on UIDs have been way off before which led to matches not being made for a very long time, so I think anything is possible. I hope they will seriously look into this one.

Thanks for posting the recent article. It gave more details about the day she went missing. Such a strange story! Her purse and car keys were there, so we know it wasn't a robbery. I guess Eva could have suffered some type of episode and wandered off but I would have expected her to be found. It sounds like she was still a pretty sharp lady and there was no mention of dementia. I see she went there to leave a pumpkin on her brother's grave and I see mention of her car keys and purse. Was the pumpkin on the grave? Was it found? Or have I missed it?
How far is it from this cemetery to the one in Annandale? I would look but am expecting company any minute.

Website Eva's son posted regarding his mom..

"Her unlocked car was found at the cemetery with the driver's side window half way down and her purse in the front seat. A few dollars were found hidden in her purse. However she normally carried her money in bank envelopes, and no bank envelopes were found in her purse.

Her car was parked in a different location from where she usually parked. However, the car keys she normally used were found on the ground where she usually parked."

From Marco IN to Annadale VA is a little over a ten hour drive..almost a straight shot on interstate 70 E

If her bank envelopes were missing then maybe this was a robbery. I wonder why the keys would have been in the regular spot but the car was parked someplace else. You couldn't move the car without the keys. At first I thought maybe somebody abducted her in order to rob her and maybe drove the car someplace else, concealed her body, and parked it back at the cemetery. But I still don't know why the keys would have been on the ground at a different area than where the car was parked. Unless maybe the perpetrator was leaving the scene and realized he was still holding her keys and threw them down. I wonder if the car, the keys, etc were fingerprinted.

"Investigators found the woman's purse in the cemetery, and her SPARE set of car keys lying on the ground"

Strange indeed...From the news article it says spare keys were found on the ground...

$50 bills usually come from a bank...so I was thinking of that when I read Eva used bank envelopes to keep her money in...

I work in an insurance office and a lot of my senior customers bring in bank envelopes when they get their SS check and they will pay me cash out of the envelopes. So I was thinking maybe that's the way Eva normally carried her money. Maybe she just cashed her check each month and kept it in the envelope.

I'm sorry, I had missed the part about it being her spare keys. It's beginning to sound a bit more like it might have been a robbery with the missing cash envelopes. Maybe some guy assaulted her at the cemetery parking lot and took both her and the car someplace else, robbed her, took her life, then reparked the car in another area of the cemetery. That might explain why her spare keys were on the ground. There could have been a struggle when she first arrived and maybe the set of keys fell out of her purse or out of a pocket.

IMO Eva is too old. Never hurts to try though!!

I agree. Even the JD had terminal illness her recon looks with in the age range.

All the reports say something different..Some say the car was locked and her keys (not spare keys) were found on the ground. Some say her car was unlocked and driver side window half way down. Some say she went missing in Oct and others say in Sept...She was never seen at the cemetery..Last seen leaving her home to go to cemetery by a neighbor..

Could be a robbery...Or could be she is our UID....Chances are it is someone just like this...who no one thought would just up and leave..Chances are the UID's family/friends believe she was kidnapped, maybe found her car and other personal items...All stuff she chose to leave behind....We know the UID was meticulous in her planning....She came from somewhere and left behind people wondering where she is..and most likely them believing she was robbed, kidnapped, and murdered....and more than likely none of them thinking she just took off on her own

I think our UID stashed 'get away money' over time. I also believe she would go far enough away so chances of the missing reports and posters would be slim. She would go to a place no one would think of her as being....She had to have an escape route...another car or some sort of transportation... changed her looks as much as she could (ex: dye hair, make up..etc)...and possible moved from town to town in the last couple of months prior to so no one would remember her or report her missing again..

I agree the age is above the estimated range they gave...However...The recon image does not show saggy skin...It has been reported by those who have seen the actual pm image that it showed sagging skin...

At 178 exclusions maybe Annadale is actually older than who everyone is searching for...

Update...Mr. Stille has contacted me...He looked into comparing Eva with Annadale UID....The dentals did not match....

179 exclusions now...Back to the drawing board...

Let's think about this from a completely different angle. I think for the most part, we have been thinking of this woman as a forgotten soul that was abandoned by all friends and family. Forlorn, and possibly ill (per the DNR bracelet), she crept away to a remote location and ended her life so as not to be a burden to society.

BUT....what if she WAS known, and had done something wrong? What if she were punishing herself for some grievous error? Why was she anonymous, and why did she go to such lengths to hide her identity....and from whom? And why wasn't this seemingly upper middle class woman being sought after by at least a cousin, a sister, a neighbor? Why was she hiding? I think we should explore this angle....

Interesting thought!

Maybe she accidentally harmed a child which resulted in death which could've been the reason she chose the baby section cemetery.

I think this scenario is real possibility. I do wonder why no one has reported her missing (although, of course, perhaps they have). I agree we should consider this angle.

Maybe it's something as simple as a falling out with her family. Which might also mean they didn't know she was missing to report her.

Hi everyone,

I came across this case in the NamUs database awhile back along with the case of a missing woman who seemed like a strong possibility for a match. I called the detective about his missing woman to suggest that our lady here might be her. He already knew about her and, in fact, has submitted the missing woman's DNA for comparison. I just spoke with him two days ago and still no response on the DNA. It's been out and pending for a very long time apparently.

Anyway, when I typed her name into Websleuths search and it brought me here I realized that she has apparently been considered a possibility here on WS as well. So I want to give my opinion and say that I believe that whoever has suggested that Shirley Sprang might be a potential match for this decedent is likely correct.

I really believed this woman to be Shirley Sprang so I decided to create a visual comparison of the two women by superimposing semi-transparent images of them atop one another. There just happened to be two similarly-angled images that made this possible. I had to flip one of them to have them both facing the same direction but I think actually one of them was incorrectly oriented to begin with. So when I lined up their right eyes everything else fell perfectly into place. I don't think they could line up so neatly if they weren't the same person. That's my take on it anyway.

I will try to post the comparison photo here to see what you guys think about it.

*respectfully snipped by me

Good match, Poky. The resemblance is especially clear to me in the color photo in Shirley's Namus profile. The hair color is virtually identical.

Please keep us in the loop, and keep up the good work.

She certainly has a strong resemblance to Shirley Sprang, but our lady was found on December 18 and per Namus, Shirley had contact with LE in Nebraska on the 19th. BBM.

Left home in a taxi after getting in an argument with her mother on 06/16/1990.Family has had no contact with her since 06/16/1990. Law enforcement in Lincoln,NE had contact with her on 12/19/1996. No contact with her since 12/19/1996 by anyone https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/14199/0/

I suppose it's possible that somebody stole her ID, if she threw it away somewhere else when she decided to kill herself, but it does seem like a big problem.
