Very strange that in 2022 David Sampson was added to the list of rule outs to this John Doe, but now he is not on there. I went to David's NamUs profile and the John Doe is not listed either. This John Doe's NamUs profile was modified today, 5/10/22
He currently has 14 rule outs

I think so too. Because of changes to the body and face postmortem it’s really hard to get it right. Sometimes someone can look completely different dead, even with retouching and all. Good reconView attachment 340056
Quick recon of Ashland Doe. I think this more accurately reflects his appearance than the PM photo on NAMUS.
tbh..He has moved to Active research, they are building his family tree now. I hope it will be a fast solve!
I just saw yesterday his NamUs profile was modified. I was hoping they were quick to finding out who he is.His NamUs page has been removed.
Can anyone explain why he’s in Identified! and why it says resolved? Thanks! No news so far.
His profile on the Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) was removed a month ago, which implies that he has been identified. However, NamUs does not make official announcements. A law enforcement agency involved in his case must now issue an announcement—in this case, the Virginia Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. But his case was resolved. Can anyone explain why he’s in Identified! and why it says resolved? Thanks!

Michael Harp’s Namus profile is still active, I don’t think it is him.So I started looking into this John Doe. I found Michael Harp, who went missing from New Mexico on March 23, 197.
Michael was last seen at a hospital located in the vicinity of the 2400 block of S. Telshor Blvd. in Las Cruces, NM. He was sighted a short time later hitchhiking along I-25 near the hospital. He was possibly picked up by a truck driver who indicated he dropped Michael off S. of Albuquerque, NM.
Could he have ended up in VA 4 days later? If he was hitchhiking and with a truck driver it's a possibility.
Here is a side by side. Now that I put the two next to each other, I think the noses look different, along with the eye brows. The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)
